Russian president Vladimir Putin is said to have fathered two secret sons who he keeps hidden in one of his heavily guarded palaces - and now he's advertising for a live-in English teacher.

The 71-year-old former KGB agent and supreme leader of the Russian state has kept his youngest offspring squirrelled away in a presidential residence on the shores of Lake Valdai, in the Novgorod region.

Guards and air defence systems surround the complex in a remote part of Russia famous for the Iversky Monastery which sits on an island in the lake.

Putin reportedly keeps his sons, named as Ivan, aged nine, and Vladimir Jr, five, in almost monk-like confinement at his mansion since he launched the illegal invasion against Ukraine in 2022.

Journalism website the Dossier Centre has revealed the names of the two sons who it is an open secret Putin had with former Olympic rhythmic gymnast Alina Kabaeva.

Ivan Putin, who is reported to have two steps-sisters from another of his father's relationships, is said to be so proud of being Putin's first son he tells tutors and staff that his dad shouted “Hurray! Finally a boy!” when he heard Ivan as on the way.

In a leaked report the journalism website claims is from a member of staff at the Valdai residence, it's detailed how Putin's sons have a huge collection of lego and use iPads for games and video lessons.

According to the source dozens of people are involved in the daily lives of the Putin's family, including drivers, cooks, pilots, waiters, assistants and teachers - although Ms Kabaeva and Putin are understood to be looking for a live-in English teacher to join them.

It's also reported the boys have rabbits, ponies and a St. Bernard dog as pets, and that despite Putin having previously spoken out against Western cartoons, his eldest son Ivan prefers Disney to Russian-made shows.

Officially Putin and Kabaeva, aged 41, have never been an item, as the only record of a romantic past for the president is his marriage to Lyudmila Shkrebneva in 1983 which ended in divorce around 30 years later.

Putin and Kabaeva were first pictured together at an event celebrating her Olympic success at a ceremony in 2001, when she was 18 years old.

According to the source from the Valdai mansion the Putins are looking for a live-in English-speaking nanny for their boys with an advert on an agency website that says "the family lives in isolation".

The firm behind the nanny website recruits personnel for wealthy families in Russia and the work was described as five days a week for 60 hours. Duties also include "teaching other subjects" and travelling with the family on trips.

The salary offered is £6,400 a month, compared to an average Russian monthly wage of around £350.

In terms of a routine for the young sons of a dictator, the Dossier Centre says the source said the boys are taken to their nannies around 8am or 9am and then have 30 to 45 minutes of lessons, followed by games.

It's reported around noon the kids are given lunch and have a nap, before more classes and sport in the afternoon. At 8pm drivers pick the youngsters up and they "go to bed almost immediately".

As far as a relationship between Putin and his sons, the Dossier Centre claims staff at his mansion are afraid of him but that his children only take his punishments seriously.
