She returned to the country in 2004 for a three-day tour during which she boldly petted a grown-up cheetah at the Kenya Wildlife Service in Nairobi.

Several years later she re-visited the very same spot for the fifth time to celebrate the charity’s 40th birthday.

In November 1973, the Princess Royal married her first husband Captain Mark Phillips in a big wedding at Westminster Abbey.
The couple had two children Peter Mark Phillips and Zara Phillips before their marriage fell apart, leading to their divorce in 1992.

After divorcing from Captain Phillips, Princess Anne married Commander Timothy Laurence
In 1989 Anne and Zara were spotted zipping down the slopes of Morzine during a skiing holiday in France.
The same year the Princess and her daughter attended Royal Ascot when the Queen made an exception for her granddaughter to attend. Children are not usually allowed to attend.
In December 1992, Anne married Commander Timothy Laurence and they have lived happily together ever since.
