The 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s untimely death takes place tomorrow, with hearts across the nation still feeling the pain of that tragic night on August 31 1997.
Ahead of the painful day, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla have taken a vow of silence, chosing to spend the day together in Scotland.
Earlier this month Channel 4 broadcast a documentary featuring tapes of Diana speaking candidly about her doomed marriage to Prince Charles.
Here is a look at Charles' marriage to Diana and his relationship with his second wife Camilla.

Princess Diana and Charles grew up close to each other near Sandringham. But in the secret tapes, Diana says they only met 13 times before their wedding.
The royal couple married on July 29 1981 and made their home at Kensington Palace. Diana gave birth to Prince William in 1982 and Prince Harry in 1984.
Diana was a beloved member of the royal family, championing humanitarian causes, supporting charities and fighting the stigma of HIV/AIDS.
But behind the scenes, Diana’s marriage was breaking apart and both she and Charles had affairs. The couple separated in 1992.

During a Panorama interview with Martin Bashir in November 1995, Diana said: "Yes, I adored him. Yes, I was in love with him. But I was very let down."
Just a month later, Buckingham Palace revealed that the Queen had advised Charles and Diana to divorce. The divorce was finalised on August 28, 1996.
A year later, tragedy struck on August 31 when Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris, France.

Prince Charles and Camilla
Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles reportedly first met in 1971 and they moved in the same social circles.
After falling for each other, their brief romance was put on hold when Charles left to join the Royal Navy in 1973. Soon after, their relationship ended.
But over the next decade rumours of Charles’ affair with Camilla, while married to Diana, were heavily scrutinised by the public and the media.
The scandal deepened with the publication of ‘Diana: Her True Story’ and reports of an intimate phone call between Camilla and Charles.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall have been married since 2005
Following his divorce from Diana in 1996, Charles famously stated that his relationship with Camilla was "non-negotiable”.
Camilla and Charles announced their engagement in 2005 with the Queen giving her blessing despite Camilla being a divorcee.
Charles and Camilla got married at Windsor Guildhall in Berkshire, giving Camilla the title of Duchess of Cornwall.
The decision at the time was not to name her Princess of Wales because the title was emotionally connected to Diana.
