Officials at the Home Office voiced concerns that Andrew Moutbatten-Windsor could launch legal action against the UK Government at the High Court if they helped the FBI to summon him to testify, according to emails in the Epstein Files, it has been reported.

The former prince has not assisted the FBI with the Epstein probe, and repeatedly refused requests to attend a voluntary interview to reveal what he knew about the late convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein, during the US investigation in 2020. Instead, his lawyers insisted he would only give a signed written statement.

Emails uncovered by The Sun show why the efforts ultimately failed. Civil servants in Whitehall feared that Blackfords, the law firm used by Mr Mountbatten-Windsor, would challenge any help they provided. An email states: "They [The UK Home Office] expect that once they approve the MLA and refer it to the police that the Blackfords will file a judicial review action.

“In that action, they believe Blackfords will claim that the Home Office failed to follow its internal guidelines on reserving MLA assistance to those instances in which voluntary cooperation is not possible.

"Blackfords will argue that since they have offered voluntary cooperation as recently as early June, the Home Office failed to properly apply its internal guidelines, and the court should direct the Home Office to vacate its approval of the MLA request and send it back to the US to engage on a voluntary basis with the Prince’s team."

Meghan Markle should not appear on MasterChef as fans blast 'she can't cook!'

Meghan Markle has been urged to not appear on shows like Australian Masterchef, just days after fans learn of her upcoming apperance on the latest series. During her work commitments in Australia, Meghan took some time to head to the studio to film for the popular Network Ten show.

Australian showbiz correspondent, Tom Ford, took to social media on Wednesday to share the announcement of Meghan's latest venture. He penned: "Breaking; Not actually a day of rest for Meghan. She's been busy filming Masterchef as a guest judge. Not sure if she cooked anything other than a succulent appearance fee!"

Fans were asked by a recent Daily Express poll if she should appear on such shows - with many fans arguing against her decision to appear.

Princess Kate's brother to step out at big event within weeks

Princess Catherine’s brother is set to step out at a big event within weeks, leaving royal fans excited. James Middleton, who celebrated his 39th birthday just days ago, will be attending Goodwoof dog event this year with his brand James & Ella, where he is expected to launch a new dog-related product.

James is well-known for being a massive dog lover and frequently attends events such as Goodwoof. His dog food brand was inspired by his own dogs, especially Ella, who sadly passed away a few years ago.

Ahead of Goodwoof, which begins on May 16, photographs of James’ previous visits to the event have been shared on social media.

Sarah Ferguson ‘came out of hiding’ - Beatrice and Eugenie will dread what happens next

OPINION BY JASMINE CAREY

Sarah Ferguson has reportedly rejected TV interview offers over the last few weeks, but how long will this really be the case for? Just last week, Sarah Ferguson was spotted for the first time in seven months outside her hiding place, and of course she was not keeping a low profile anywhere cheap.

No, the former duchess was keeping herself away from the public eye in a very expensive £2k-a-night ski chalet in Austria. A very luxurious location for someone with no job to stay.

And it is this lack of job, and career, that is the reason why I think it is only a matter of time before Sarah will step out in front of the cameras and speak.

'Everyone was scared of Queen Elizabeth for heartbreaking reason'

A royal insider has revealed the surprising, and touching, reason why so many people felt intimidated by the late Queen Elizabeth II. Despite her global stature, the late monarch did not inspire fear through anger or authority, but through something far more personal.

“Yes, everyone was scared of her, but not because she might be angry – she wasn’t an ogre,” royal expert Robert Hardman explained. "They were just terrified of letting her down." Speaking in The Sunday Telegraph, Mr Hardman's remarks shed light on the late Queen's leadership style, suggesting those around her were driven by a quiet desire to meet her expectations rather than avoid her temper. It also highlights the warmth she showed behind palace walls – including towards Meghan Markle in her early days as a royal.

Sarah Ferguson 'distraught' her hiding place was leaked but issues defiant message

Sarah Ferguson is reportedly “distraught” that her hiding place was leaked last week, it has been revealed. The former Duchess of York was photographed for the first time in seven months last week outside a ski chalet in Austria.

It is believed the chalet, which reportedly costs £2k-a-night, is where Sarah has been keeping a low profile over recent months following her appearance in the Epstein files. While appearing in the Epstein files does not indicate wrongdoing, the files did show that Sarah had stayed in touch with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein after he was first sentenced for child sex offences. In the wake of the revelations, several organisations cut ties with the former duchess.

Andrew's gone too far this time - and King Charles might never speak to him again

OPINION BY CHRIS RICHES

If Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor thought he was being ignored by the Royal Family, things might be about to get a lot worse. Since his chastening move to Sandringham from his sumptuous 30-room Royal Lodge home in Windsor, where he used to boast around 30 staff, Andrew has been persona non grata.

Even Sandringham staff, on the King's own Norfolk estate, have tried to avoid him - not only due to lurid revelations from the Epstein Files but because for decades he's had a bad reputation for treating his employees. But considering he is now living on the King's estate, you would have thought Charles would have popped in to see his younger brother and check how he's holding up.

Hilarious moment sunbather refused to move for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were met with a dose of classic Australian indifference during their visit to Bondi Beach, as a defiant sunbather refused to budge for the royal arrival. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who undertook a high-profile four-day "pseudo-royal tour" last week, arrived at the world-famous beach on Friday (April 17) to meet with survivors of last year’s horrific Hanukkah attack.

But while crowds of well-wishers and a heavy security detail swarmed the beach, one unbothered Aussie stole the show. As the couple made their way across the iconic shoreline to meet first responders and community leaders, they were forced to navigate around a local woman who appeared completely uninterested in the royal spectacle. Donning a while tank top and shorts while stretched out on her beach towel, the brown-haired woman continued to read her book, making no attempt to get out of the way or acknowledge the VIP guests.

The encounter has since gone viral online. One post captioned "Bondi beachgoer gives zero f****" has attracted hundreds of Reddit comments, with many hailing her as an "unbothered queen".

Sarah Ferguson set to 'tell her side of the story' in bombshell £1.3m TV interview

TV producers and executives have expressed interest in hearing cash-strapped Sarah Ferguson's life story, with one American bid thought to be worth £1.3m, it has been reported. The former Duchess of York is understood to be open to the right deal, with discussions focusing on her friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.

A source said: "Sarah knows she needs the money and she’s open to the right television opportunity, but she’s also very aware of the tightrope she’s walking. Her daughters are part of the Royal Family, and anything she does reflects on them."

They told the Mirror: "There’s a real sense she wants, in fact needs, to tell her side of the story, but she knows it has to be handled carefully. She can’t ignore the reality of how this looks, especially given Andrew’s close relationship with the paedophile."

William and Kate face ‘crying shame’ when they succeed King Charles

Prince William and Princess Kate face a "crying shame" when they succeed King Charles. The royal family has faced criticism in recent years after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s relations with peadophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. The former prince denies any wrongdoing but the royal family’s reputation has suffered due to the scandal.

There is a thinning “front line” of working royals, according to royal expert, Robert Hardman, meaning by the time Prince William becomes monarch, the couple might not have many working members of he royal family to work with. He told The Telegraph: “I think it’s a crying shame that when William takes the throne, he and Catherine are effectively looking at quite a significant spell on their own, carrying the whole show."

Shocking pictures show anti-monarchy protestors targeting Queen Elizabeth II

Anti-monarchy protestors have targeted posters of Queen Elizabeth II as the Royal Family is set to celebrate what would have been her 100th birthday tomorrow. On the railings of Buckingham Palace, posters had been put up advertising the exhibition of the late Queen’s dresses.

However, these posters were covered with new lookalike posters by anti-monarchy protest group Republic. The group put their posters over the existing ones, with these posters suggesting that the late Queen helped protect her son Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor when it came to scandals regarding Jeffrey Epstein.

The posters put up by Republic read: “What did she know?”

King Charles's secret new passion revealed - and the late-Queen would be thrilled

King Charles is following in the footsteps of his mother Queen Elizabeth II - by being enthralled by the sport of horseracing, the Express can reveal. Queen Elizabeth II was well known for her love of horseracing, owning and breeding thoroughbreds for Flat and Jump racing and winning more than 1,600 races as an owner, including four of the five Classics.

After her death the racehorses registered in her name were transferred to the ownership of ‘HM The King & HM The Queen’. Now King Charles and Queen Camilla's horseracing manager has revealed how much enjoyment the new King is getting from being involved in the sport.

Meghan Markle's secret outing with friend during Australia trip

Meghan Markle reportedly met with her friend Markus Anderson during the final day of her Australian trip last week. The former working royal is said to have been spotted walking along the scenic Tamarama-to-Bronte coastal path alongside Markus.

Meghan, 44, and Prince Harry, 41, travelled to Australia last week, during which the couple carried out multiple joint and solo engagements. Despite the visit largely focused on working commitments, Meghan appeared to make time to catch up with Markus, whom she met during her days as an actress on the US legal drama Suits.

Buckingham Palace releases sneak peak of King Charles's speech honouring Queen Elizabeth

King Charles will deliver a heartfelt address to the nation tomorrow to mark the late Queen Elizabeth's 100th birthday celebration. While Buckingham Palace is keeping the contents of the message under wraps, they have released a still from the broadcast, which was filmed in the library of Balmoral Castle at the start of the month.

It is a fitting tribute that the moving message was filmed at the late Queen's favourite residence, where she died on September 8, 2022.

Meghan Markle risks backlash as she launches new item inspired by Archie and Lilibet

The Duchess of Sussex has unveiled a Mother’s Day collection for her lifestyle brand, inspired by Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, despite receiving previous criticisms of "exploiting" her children to make money. Set to launch on April 22, the new items will feature candles inspired by her children, similarly to previous candles sold inspired by the Sussexes' wedding day and Meghan's own birthday.

One candle, Signature Candle No. 506, is tied to Archie’s May 6 birthday and listed as “Prince Archie of Sussex’s Birthdate.” The scent is described as “a warm, comforting scent inspired by Prince Archie of Sussex’s birthdate, bringing a soft, familiar ease into the room,” with notes of ginger, neroli and cashmere.

The 2 royals that 'won't turn their back' on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor may have been shunned by members of his family, but there are two royals who have reportedly maintained contact with him. Princess Anne has purportedly still been talking with her brother and has been concerned for his welfare, according to The Mail.

Anne, 75, is said to have some sympathy for Andrew, whose ties to the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein led King Charles to strip him of his "prince" status and evict his brother from his Royal Lodge home. Without naming names, a source told the same publication that some members of the Royal Family believe the monarch treated Andrew "too harshly".

Meghan Markle 'fails at 1 thing' during Masterchef introduction

Meghan Markle reportedly tried to appear “relatable” during her introduction as a guest judge on Masterchef Australia, but according to a body language expert she didn’t quite master it. Earlier this week during Meghan and Prince Harry’s tour in Australia, Masterchef announced that Meghan was to feature on the new series as a guest judge.

On social media, a video was uploaded by Masterchef Australia in which Meghan is introduced onto the show and walks into the room to join the judges. While it is clear to see just how delighted Meghan is, body language expert Inbaal Honigman said that the duchess was trying to restrain her excitement.

Sarah Ferguson's plan for next move revealed after her hiding spot discovered

Sarah Ferguson was photographed this week for the first time in seven months, exposing the place she has been hiding. The former duchess was spotted just days ago exiting a car outside a £2,000-a-night chalet near the Mayrlife Medical Health Resort in Altaussee, Austria.

It is believed Sarah has been at the chalet for some time in a bid to keep a low profile following the Epstein files, which showed how she had kept in touch with late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein even after he was first sentenced for child sex offences. While appearing in the Epstein files does not indicate wrongdoing, the emails sent from Sarah to Epstein, including one in which she called him a “legend”, has seen her reputation plummet.
