The Duchess of Sussex has unveiled a Mother’s Day collection for her lifestyle brand, inspired by Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, despite receiving previous criticisms of "exploiting" her children to make money. Set to launch on April 22, the new items will feature candles inspired by her children, similarly to previous candles sold inspired by the Sussexes' wedding day and Meghan's own birthday.

One candle, Signature Candle No. 506, is tied to Archie’s May 6 birthday and listed as “Prince Archie of Sussex’s Birthdate.” The scent is described as “a warm, comforting scent inspired by Prince Archie of Sussex’s birthdate, bringing a soft, familiar ease into the room,” with notes of ginger, neroli and cashmere.

Signature Candle No. 604, is inspired by Lilibet’s June 4 birthday and listed as “Princess Lilibet of Sussex’s Birthdate.” It’s described as “a light, floral scent inspired by Princess Lilibet of Sussex’s birthdate, adding a sense of brightness and openness to the home,” with notes of amber, water lily and santal.

The launch comes as Meghan is seen to be increasingly posting her children on her social media accounts, during her As Ever brand drops. Meghan has previously been criticised for using her children to promote clothing lines.

Royal author and journalist Phil Dampier told The Sun: "Nothing happens by accident and she would have thought this through and knows putting a photo of her children out at the same time as her clothing line would get maximum publicity.

"It begs the question whether Meghan is exploiting her two children who remain in the line of succession. I’d expect the Palace to take a dim view of this."

The comment referred to Meghan posting a family picture and then revealing she had a “ShopMy” page featuring “a hand-picked and curated collection of the things I love — I hope you enjoy them”.

In an interview with People Magazine, Meghan Markle previously shared some insight into why the Sussex name has become more meaningful and important to her family.

"It’s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn’t recognised how meaningful that would be to me until we had children," she said.

"I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me," she added.

Mother's Day in the United States falls on May 10, 2026.
