Prince Harry has reportedly ignored Meghan Markle's advice amid his sadness about spending another Christmas away from the UK. The 41-year-old is set to spend another Christmas in California next week, his seventh one away from the Royal Family and sixth consecutive one in Montecito.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror: "He’s on record as saying he misses elements of his UK life, including the banter, pub culture, friends, and family gatherings. And he says he still has a deep love for Britain so the images of his family making that familiar walk to Sandringham Church might, indeed, pull at his heartstrings.

"But maybe not for long. When he’s enjoying Christmas in the warm Californian sunshine, with his wife, children and mother-in-law, the attraction of an often grey, damp Norfolk might fade a little".

During the festive-themed episode of her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, the 44-year-old, shared some advice about the "small moments [that] create the energy you want for the holidays" and the importance of family during the festive period. It served as another reminder about just how fractured Harry’s relationship is with his own UK relatives, especially Prince William.

Jennie Bond added: “I imagine that for King Charles there will always be a sadness that both his boys and their children aren’t with him at this special time of year. His two daughters-in-law often speak about love, kindness and the importance of family - and yet William and Harry remain as far apart as ever."

Queen Elizabeth would buy a £6 Tesco gift for her 1,500 staff every year at Christmas

As well as giving cards and presents to friends and family, Elizabeth II would also give these to members of the Royal Household staff, too. As well as a personal note, the late Queen would gift every staff member a Christmas pudding.

The one thing missing from Prince George's signature spotted

Photographs and videos of the princes were shared by Kensington Palace on Saturday, including a photograph of the charity’s visitor book. One page of the book had been signed by Princess Diana and Prince William in 1993, with Prince George invited to add his signature underneath. However, while royal fans may have expected him to sign Prince George, there was one thing missing.

Instead, George took a leaf out of his father and grandmother’s book - with Diana having brought William with her to The Passage when he was a similar age to George - and simply signed the book George, without including his royal title.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis’ bizarre Christmas traditions revealed

While most children in the UK open their Christmas presents on Christmas Day, this is not always the case for the royal children. This is because the Royal Family still carry on the German tradition of opening presents on Christmas Eve.

Major way King Charles is switching up Christmas at Sandringham this year

Since ascending the throne, King Charles is said to have quietly relaxed the famously stiff Christmas Day dress code at Sandringham. While the traditional Christmas Day walkabout after church sees the royals greeting members of the public in their finest garments, Charles has relaxed the dress code at Sandringham over the festive period.

According to Vanity Fair, one insider said: "It used to be a nightmare going to Sandringham because there used to be so many outfit changes, sometimes up to six a day. But the king has relaxed that. There won’t be so many changes but everyone will wear black tie at Christmas dinner."

Hilarious Christmas gift Princess Kate gave to Harry before he married Meghan Markle

Princess Catherine may not be as close to her brother-in-law, Prince Harry, as she was, but she once gave him a hysterical Christmas gift before he married Meghan Markle. The Royal Family are very well known for giving one another joke presents, rather than serious gifts

While there are funny stories of leather toilet seats, singing hamsters and shower caps with rude slogans, one gift the Princess of Wales bought the Duke of Sussex surely tops the list as she reportedly bought him a grow-your-own girlfriend kit.

The Royal Family’s unsung hero - who's just shown Andrew, Harry and Meghan how to behave

At a time when members of the Royal Family are frequently criticised for using private jets, reporter Chris Riches says Lady Louise Windsor has set a quietly positive example.

Riches says that while other royals might have opted for first class or private transport, the 22-year-old instead found herself standing on a packed two-hour intercity train from London to Bristol and simply sat cross-legged on the floor when there were no seats available.

According to Riches, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh made no fuss and raised no concerns about privacy or security. As the train pulled out of Paddington, she sat on the carriage floor with her laptop, sipped a cup of PG Tips and got on with writing an essay for the University of St Andrews.

Secluded home 'Andrew wanted' thought to be 'too close' to Royal Family

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson's association with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein has prompted one of the biggest royal downfalls in decades. As well as losing the royal titles they had, the divorced couple have also been served an eviction notice on Royal Lodge - the Crown estate property they have shared since 2008.

Their associations with Epstein, including times they contacted him after he was released from prison for child sex offences, have resulted in the need for the Royal Family to keep a distance from them.

Before being wrapped up in various scandals, the former couple would travel to Sandringham with the royals and would stay at Wood Farm, a small, secluded cottage once loved by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

However, this is not the property that has been chosen, with a source saying it is “too close” to the rest of the Royal Family at Sandringham.

Although she is now a regular fixture at the Sandringham Estate every Christmas, Princess Catherine once rejected the invitation to join the royals for Christmas in Norfolk.
