Whilst Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is understood to be moving to a home on the Sandringham Estate, privately funded by the King, his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, is set to make her own arrangements, sources say. While it is currently unknown exactly where Sarah will be spending this next chapter of her life, more than one expert has claimed that she is likely to leave the UK behind altogether.

Phil Dampier, writing for Woman's Day, claimed that Fergie might well opt to join her sister Jane in Australia, in an attempt to get away from the ongoing scandal surrounding the late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

Mr Dampier claimed: "Sarah's sister Jane recently came over to comfort her, and she has suggested she could always move to be near her in Australia. Fergie has always loved Oz and Aussies, and some still like her."

Jane Ferguson Luedecke recently travelled from Australia to Britain to support her younger sister during the particularly challenging period.

The 66-year-old Sarah is understood to be struggling amid the fallout with the Royal Family, prompting Jane to make the long journey to provide familial support.

The recent turmoil began when correspondence between Sarah and Epstein surfaced, revealing she had referred to the financier as a "supreme friend" in 2011.

This message emerged despite her public declarations of severing ties with him, but representatives for Sarah maintained she composed the message while fearing potential threats against her family members.

There would be a major drawback to the potential plan of Sarah living abroad as she would be thousands of miles away from her two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as well as her grandchildren.

The expert added: "Like many families with loved ones on the other side of the world, she would miss her daughters and grandkids. But they could always visit, and at least she would be free to live again."

Sarah has opened up about how important being a grandmother and mother is to her many times, describing the arrival of her grandchildren as "precious, joyful, [and] exciting".

Sarah Ferguson's representatives have been approached for comment.
