Princess Beatrice travelled to New York joined by her mother, Sarah Ferguson, as they both attended an event to mark Climate Week at the same time as her cousin, Prince Harry.

The Princess of York attended a lunch co-hosted by the Anti-Slavery Collective, a charity she co-founded with sister Princess Eugenie which aims to combat modern slavery and human trafficking.

In pictures released on social media, Beatrice can be seen giving a speech at the event, which was attended by her mother, as well as former Prime Minister, Theresa May.

The charity's post on social media read: "Day 2: NYC Climate Week," the caption read. "Yesterday TASC co-hosted a lunch at the @goalshouse with our good friends @hpe @theresamay and her Global Commission on Modern Slavery, and Lisa Kristine's @humanthread Foundation."

"We believe that thinking about and debating complicated, knotty issues is a vital part of the process. Gathering with decision-makers from all walks of life and creating a judgement-free space to share ideas, offer different perspectives, and tell stories helps us to reconnect with why this work is so important.

"We hope that connections made between leaders will spark new thinking and action to uncover and stamp out all forms of forced labour."

At the same time, Beatrice's cousin, Prince Harry, was also in the Big Apple to attend a number of events during the UN General Assembly High-Level Week and Climate Week.

It is not known if the two cousins met during their trip. Beatrice, as well as Eugenie, are known to have been close to the Duke even after his fall out with the rest of the royals, however, recently, their relationship had become a bit more distant.

During one of the appearances, at the Clinton Global Initiative, Prince Harry gave a passionate speech on online harm and called for action to tackle the "pervasive threat" the online world poses for children.

He also stressed the surges in anxiety and depression linked to social media platforms, with challenges compounded by the spread of "unreliable and unfounded information".

He said: "These platforms are designed to create addiction. Young people are kept there by mindless, endless, numbing, scrolling, being force-fed content that no child should ever be exposed to. This is not free will. I, like many of you, did not grow up with a phone. Young people today possess an incredible understanding of technology that older generations may struggle to grasp."

After stressing that there is "critical work to do", he added: "We can't wait. Our kids can't wait. We need a better digital future. One that we all deserve. We were promised a human experience. Instead, we've been a human experiment."
