Prince Harry's two signs he's 'relaxed' on trip without Meghan laid bare by expert

Prince Harry exhibited two signs that he's feeling "relaxed" during his solo trip to New York, a body language expert says.

The royal was on a panel at an event hosted by African Parks on Monday and appeared "very relaxed and calm", Darren Stanton said.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Mr Stanton said Harry didn't exhibit any nervousness as he posed for pictures afterwards and showed "real happiness" to take part in the discussion.

The media psychological coach and self-styled "human lie detector", says there are "very distinct versions of Harry" in public. "When he’s on his own, he loves to attend events," he claimed.

The expert added: "In these situations, he always comes across as very relaxed and calm. It’s easy to see when he is not calm or relaxed, as his face goes bright red, and his cheeks flush.

"Other gestures we may see are that he will bite his lips, wring his hands, put his hands in his jackets, and brush things off his shoulder."

He claims the old version of the Prince "would’ve shown these sorts of signals quite often" but during his appearance at the event he seemed "completely calm and relaxed and breathing at a good rate, which is noticeable through slight shoulder movements".

Here, the Prince's "breathing at a good rate" - indicated by slight shoulder movements" as well the "smiles and joy" he showed were suggestive of how comfortable he felt in himself, Mr Stanton stated.

"The smiles and joy there show the real happiness and emotion," he said. "He looks excited to be at the event and is clearly in his element amongst this group of people.”

This was further evidenced by the "open palm gestures", he used, which revealed that the Duke had a "great deal of openness and authenticity on display" and was being very genuine in his responses to other panellists.

“When he was talking on the panel, he was leaning towards the person he was speaking to. Leaning towards someone or in their direction shows active listening," he said, noting that the Prince appears more relaxed on his own.

"Sometimes when he’s with Meghan, he feels more protective, he’s always on guard. He’s never truly relaxed and we don’t tend to see this level of calm," Mr Stanton claimed.

Among other engagements, the Prince also spoke at Clinton Global Initiative to discuss online harms, as the 90-minute event's star guest.

The royal has been open about his concerns for his family's safety, and earlier this year was given the green light to appeal a High Court ruling that dismissed his challenge to the level of protection he receives in Britain, after stepping down as a senior royal with Meghan in 2020.

In an interview in the ITV documentary "Tabloids on Trial", Harry, who now resides in California with Meghan and their two children, laid bare the fears he has for his wife's safety in the UK.

"It’s still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read," the Prince said.

"Whether it’s a knife or acid, whatever it is - and these are things that are of genuine concern for me," he added. "It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country."
