Princess Kate’s brother has said he “couldn’t be more proud” after she shared her latest cancer update.

In a video released by The Princess of Wales, 42, on Monday, Kate confirmed that she has finished her chemotherapy and is ready to make a gradual return to work after first being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

The video, filmed over the summer holidays, features never-seen-before footage of Kate and her family on holiday as she speaks about her difficult cancer journey and the road to recovery.

The mum-of-three also talks about the power of love and how her illness has meant she has a greater appreciation for the simple things such as being loved and loving.

Since releasing the video at 4.30pm today (September 9), the family have been inundated with well wishes, including a sweet and simple message from Kate’s close brother James Middleton.

James wrote on Instagram: “I couldn’t be more proud.”

As well as going to big royal events such as the King’s Coronation last year, it is believed James shares a close bond with both his sisters Kate and Pippa.

When Kate was first diagnosed with cancer and told the world back in March, James took to social media and shared a never-before-seen picture of the two siblings as children.

In the caption, James pledged to help his sister through her illness. He wrote: “Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too.”

Although James did not feature in the new video released by the princess, their parents Michael Middleton and Carole Middleton did as they were seen playing cards with their grandchildren at a dining room table.

It is believed that the grandparents, who have always been on hand to help with the children, have been stepping up even more during the princess’ illness by helping Prince William with the school runs and childcare.

The Princess of Wales is now expected to make a gradual return to work as she continues her recovery.
