The Duchess of York has paid tribute to her late former mother in law Queen Elizabeth with a touching gesture as the world marks two years since her death today.

Sarah Ferguson - also known as Fergie - has revealed that to honour the anniversary of the late Queen’s passing that she asked for the help of Her Late Majesty’s hat maker.

In a sweet post on her Instagram Stories Sarah explained that she dressed up “Little Red” - her doll of the character of the same name in her series of children’s books - in an outfit that would surely get the late Queen’s nod of approval.

Sarah said: “For the anniversary of Her Late Majesty The Queen's passing l asked Stella McLaren, Her Majesty's hat maker and milliner to make a little outfit for Little Red to wear, as I believe it's so important to keep memories in all different ways.

“Stella was delighted to honour Her Late Majesty The Queen, whom Stella misses so much.

“You will notice the ladybirds, which Her Late Majesty The Queen absolutely loved.”

She added: “l encourage people to donate whatever they can to any of the many charities associated with Her Late Majesty the Queen.”

Sarah - who was married to the late Queen’s son Prince Andrew and still shares a home with him at the Royal Lodge in Windsor - now looks after the late Queen’s corgis.

She shared a picture with them a couple of weeks ago to mark International Dog Day. Over the course of her lifetime and her long-standing monarchy, the late Queen had more than 30 corgis, all with unique names.

Two of the corgis she had before her death in September 2022, Sandy and Muick, were given to Sarah to care for.
