Americans react to Prince Harry signalling US is now his primary residence

Prince Harry was trying to send a message to the Royal Family with one "symbolic" major move, a royal commentator has claimed.

June 29 marked one year since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex officially vacated Frogmore Cottage, with the five-bedroom property in Windsor still being empty.

Back in April, newly filed documents revealed that the Duke, listing his full name, Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex, listed the United States as his "new country/state usually resident", with the date of change listed as June 29, 2023 - the same day Buckingham Palace the Sussexes had vacated their former UK residence, Frogmore Cottage.

Now royal commentator Esther Krakue told Sky News Australia's Royal Report programme: "It's very interesting that Prince Harry chose to date his official US residency on the day he was kicked out of Frogmore Cottage."

She added: "I think he was trying to send a message and it was very symbolic and I think the biggest message here is that it represents everything that could have been and is not and has been lost. Potentially it represents what actually should never have been."

Meghan Markle set to be dragged back to court as half-sister Samantha draws battle lines

Meghan Markle will once again have to face her half-sister Samatha in court over claims of supposed defamation.

Lawyers for Samantha Markle previously argued in a civil lawsuit that comments made by Meghan about her family were "disparaging, hurtful, and false" and implied that Meghan's sister was "a stranger, a liar, and... [a] deceptive fame-seeking imposter with avaricious intentions".

Although the Duchess of Sussex won in court, Samantha Markle has now taken the lawsuit to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeal, where her lawyers have been given a July deadline for filing their initial brief.

Prince Harry slammed for keeping silent after being offered huge honour

Prince Harry was recently nominated for the Pat Tillman Award thanks to his work with the Invictus Games.

Along with the controversy that this has generated, the Duke of Sussex has added further fuel to the fire by refusing to comment on the decision.

Royal expert Rupert Bell appeared on Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered to discuss the situation.

He said: "From a perspective, Harry may be the innocent in this, however, but he hasn’t turned it down. This is the problem for Harry, he’s damned if he does, and damned if he doesn’t. That tends to be the problem at the moment with him.

"[He] has created this problem for himself and that is part of the problem. But it does seem to me that now all he seems to do is be a professional award gatherer in America."

King Charles and Prince Andrew's Royal Lodge row takes 'ugly' turn

The dispute between King Charles and Prince Andrew over whether the latter should stay in Royal Lodge has now turned "ugly", according to a royal commentator.

In the latest instalment of her From Berkshire to Buckingham newsletter, Jane Barr wrote: "Basically, although it has been reported that Charles wants him out, Kate Mansey got people to talk and saw emails, etc., that really confirmed it is quite an ugly dispute.

"Charles is truly determined."

Royal biographer Andrew Lownie told Daily Express US: "I think there is a battle being played here — by Andrew — I don’t quite know what the game is, but he clearly wants to stay and feels he’s entitled to stay there."

Prince Harry 'plagued with major regret' about quitting royals as US life 'under threat'

Prince Harry reportedly majorly regrets writing about his drug use in his memoir Spare, as life in the US is apparently not panning out as he had hoped.

Royal expert and author Tom Quinn told The Mirror US: "Meghan does her best to support Harry, but she is in her natural environment and he is in a strange unfamiliar world which grows increasingly unfriendly.

"The couple have taken legal advice because they’re seriously worried that if Donald Trump wins the next election Harry’s visa may be revoked.

"Trump has insisted that if Harry is found to have lied on his visa application about his admitted drug taking, he could be asked to leave the country."

Queen Camilla's hilarious four-word remark after downing shot of whiskey with King Charles

Queen Camilla and King Charles drank some 52-year-old whiskey in Edinburgh today to mark the 900th anniversary of the city.

Stopping at a stall by Aberdeen-based firm Duncan Taylor, they were each handed two large drams of 52-year-old Macallan whiskey.

Camilla appeared to enjoy the tipple and said: "That hits the spot, that hits the spot."

Spanish royals ignore latest affair rumours as they put on united front for ceremony

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain have attended a military ceremony in Zaragoza to see their daughter Princess Leonor become a junior army officer.

The royal parents looked on proudly, just hours after fresh claims from Jaime Del Burgo.

Mr Del Burgo has previously alleged that he continued a romance with Letizia after she married Felipe.

In an interview with Argentinian newspaper Clarín Mr Del Burgo alleged that he and Letizia are still in touch, despite him now being divorced from her sister Telma, whom he was married to from 2012-2014.

He said: "We have shared many years of our lives together. We have been a family. As I have always said, ours was not a relationship of lovers. The lover would be him, in any case. I mean Felipe."

A source claimed: "It's no secret that Meghan went out of her way to try and build a relationship with Taylor, but got nowhere.

"It's hard for her and Harry not to see this as being a calculated way for William and the royals to undermine them further. It's certainly rubbing salt into the wound."

Princess Kate would provide key boost to Wimbledon as official breaks silence on rumours

The Princess of Wales would bring a major boost to this year's Wimbledon if she ended up attending, a royal expert has claimed.

Princess Kate, who has been a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016, has not attended any royal engagements this year apart from Trooping the Colour in June, as she undergoes treatment for a type of cancer.

According to reports, the future Queen was eyeing up the tennis tournament for her next major appearance, as she's been a regular over the years, however, her attendance has still not been confirmed.

Royal commentator Charles Rae claimed that there's a particular reason the event organisers want the royal to attend.

Meghan Markle's latest venture taking 'a step backwards' as it risks being all about her

Meghan Markle's latest media venture risks becoming a "step backwards" and about her more than celebrity guests, a royal commentator has claimed.

Rupert Bell told YouTube series Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered the Duchess of Sussex's new podcast series would be a retrograde step if former Suits co-stars feature among the line up.

He said: "Suits did well in its time. Meghan was in it. She earned a lot of money out of it. But it does feel retrograde if she's having to call on members of the cast that she has very little contact with."

King Charles can legally vote in a General Election - but here's why he doesn't

Following Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's request for King Charles to dissolve parliament in May, the general election will take place on Thursday, July 4. Although the UK operates under a parliamentary democracy, the monarchy still holds a symbolic role in various aspects of governance.

Despite the widespread belief that the Royal Family are not able to vote in general elections, King Charles and other members of the Royal Family are legally permitted to vote.

“There is no law prohibiting this [members of the Royal Family voting],” Robert Blackburn, a professor of constitutional law at King’s College London, tells Express.co.uk.

“But in reality, they refrain from doing so, guided by the most important principle of constitutional monarchy today which is that the King together with active members of the Royal Family supporting him must maintain a strict political impartiality and appearance of impartiality.

“Any leaking of information, however secret the ballot is supposed to be, on how they had voted would be deeply embarrassing and damaging to the institution.”

King Charles and Queen Camilla brave the rain with celeb guests for Holyrood Garden Party

King Charles and Queen Camilla yesterday welcomed several guests to the Palace of Holyroodhouse for a celebratory garden party.

The event takes place annually and has gone ahead despite the royals supposedly taking a step back from certain duties due to the General Election happening on July 4.

The Royal Family has to remain apolitical, and as such during the pre-election period, they cannot be seen to be promoting or interfering with any political party or the democratic process.

Prince William's 'grudge' with uncle Prince Andrew could stem from Princess Kate comment

Prince William reportedly harbours a longstanding 'grudge' against Prince Andrew, dating back to the early days of his romance with Princess Kate.

William is believed to have been instrumental in the move to oust Andrew from his Buckingham Palace office and has been adamant that Andrew should be excluded from formal Royal occasions, reports the Mirror.

Rumours suggest that it's William who is urging King Charles to force Andrew out of Royal Lodge. Daily Mail columnist Richard Kay reports: "William has long held a grudge against Andrew for being unwelcoming when he first introduced the then Kate Middleton to the Royal Family and feels that his father has been too soft on him."

Prince William and Kate's very unusual titles they use while in Scotland

When King Charles ascended to the throne, his former title of Prince of Wales was passed down to his son Prince William, with his wife Princess Kate becoming the Princess.

They also inherited the Duchy of Cornwall, making them the Duke and Duchess, and retained their titles Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, which they were given when they married in 2011.

However, there is another lesser-known title that was bestowed on William and Kate in 2022, which is generally only used when they travel to Scotland.

Prince Harry frozen out as Prince William tasked to complete very special project

Prince William is left on his own to "complete" his mother, Princess Diana's work after Prince Harry decided to quit his royal duties and move to America, the late Princess of Wales's former butler has claimed.

Monday, July 1st, marked what would have been Diana's 63rd birthday and Paul Burrell who worked for the late princess and Queen Elizabeth, claimed that the world was "robbed" of years to come of her incredible work, as he reflected on just how much Diana achieved by the time of her death in 1997, aged 36.

Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, Mr Burrell said: "People have to remind themselves that she was 36 years old and she'd just begun her work really."
