Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been dealt another embarrassing blow after one of their ex-pals was given a seat in the Royal Box at Wimbledon.

David Beckham made an appearance on Monday to watch Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz vs Estonia’s Mark Lajal in the first day of the tennis tournament.

He sat alongside Jamie Cullen, Alexander Armstrong, Katherine Jenkins, Sir David Attenborough, and his mother Sandra in the star-studded box.

Despite the lengthy list of A-listers in attendance, there were no members of the Royal Family in the Royal Box. Harry and Meghan have not appeared there since 2019, before stepping down from their royal duties in 2022.

David and Victoria Beckham used to share a close relationship with the Sussexes, but their relationship has since deteriorated massively.

It was recently alleged that Prince Harry snubbed David Beckham at the 2018 Invictus Games after Meghan Markle told her husband to avoid being photgraphed with him.

A source told the Daily Mail that the four of them mending their relationship was "so unlikely" and Meghan's former friend Lizzie Cundy said the Beckhams have "slowly tiptoed away like the other friends".

The Royal Box is the prime-viewing spot at Wimbledon's Centre Court and hosts celebrities and guests of the tournament who are sent invitations by the Chairman of the All England Club.

Wimbledon runs for a total of 14 days, this year spanning from July 1 to July 14. David is a regular at the tournament and was seated a row in front of Katherine Jenkins, who he also does not share a good relationship with after emails were leaked showing him complaining about her getting an OBE.

Body language expert Inbaal Honigman told Express.co.uk: "David Beckham's expressions appear tense when Katherine Jenkins is right behind him. His mouth is tightly closed, even when he smiles, and his lips are pressed together a lot of the time, which points to tension.

"He appears to lean forward slightly, which suggests that he's taking himself away from Katherine, who is behind him, so he's putting some distance between them."

She added: "The footballer's eyebrows are squeezed close together, which makes him appear worried. His furrowed brow may also suggest annoyance."
