Sarah Ferguson has revealed she's "not entirely out of the woods" yet with her health, following two cancer diagnoses in just one year. The Duchess of York, who was once married to Prince Andrew, was left in shock when she was diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer, shortly after undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Sarah's latest diagnosis came after her dermatologist told her to get several concerning moles checked out, which she thankfully did in time. The 64-year-old has since encouraged others to get checked out if they're worried about new or changed moles, as the earlier cancerous ones are discovered, the better.

Following her diagnosis in January, Sarah said while all is currently well, she still cannot declare herself to be "cancer-free". She explained: "Two cancer diagnoses within the space of a year was obviously a shock.

"In that situation, you certainly confront your mortality and it has been something of an annus horribilis. But right now, I feel fit and well. My doctors tell me I can't use the phrase 'cancer-free' and I am having regular check-ups, but there appears to have been no spread of either the breast cancer or melanoma, which is good news.

"So I'm not entirely out of the woods, but I'm a resilient person and I am hugely positive about the future." The mother-of-two went on to praise her family for rallying around her during her difficult time, especially her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

"My girls in particular have been rock solid in their support," she told Bella Magazine.

"The wider family has also been enormously supportive and I'm very grateful."

2024 has been an incredibly tough year for the Royal Family, who have been rocked by health battles.

King Charles III is currently being treated for cancer after the disease was found during treatment for an enlarged prostate.

The monarch temporarily stopped most of his public engagements after his diagnosis in February, but has since returned to duties.

Most recently, he attended the Trooping the Colour ceremonial parade to mark his official birthday.

In support was his son Prince William, Princess Kate and their three children; Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte.

Fans were particularly pleased to see the mother-of-three following the announcement of her own cancer battle back in March.

In a video shared on Instagram, The Princess of Wales said the diagnosis came as a "huge shock" and revealed she was undergoing a course of preventative chemotherapy.

On Friday, she said in a statement: "I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.

“I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.

"I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much-needed time to heal."
