Queen Rania of Jordan's wedding dress was unique due to one accessory

Queen Rania of Jordan wore an incredible white and golden wedding dress which was unique from anything the British Royal Family has worn due to one very 90s accessory.

Queen Rania of Jordan is celebrating her 31st wedding anniversary today, making it the perfect time to look back at her memorising wedding dress.

She married King Abdullah at the Zahran Palace in Amman on June 10 1993 which has now been declared a national holiday in Jordan.

The royal wore a custom-made wedding dress designed by Bruce Oldfield, a British fashion designer famous for being one of Princess Diana’s favourite designers.

The white bridal gown looked like something out of a fairy tale due to its gold floral embroidery pattern and golden trim but also had some modern touches with its short sleeves.

However, what made this royal gown truly unique was its matching white gold-trimmed collared jacket that covered the top of her dress along with a large statement belt as an accessory to keep it in place.

The belt was worn once again by Queen Rania’s daughter Princess Iman as a sweet tribute at her pre-wedding henna party in March 2023.

Queen Rania also did not wear a tiara on the big day and instead opted for a white and golden headband to match her voluminous veil, which was designed by Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab.

She wore her hair in a large intricate bun updo and also accessorised by wearing white gloves plus a pair of pearl drop earrings, which are believed to feature a small pearl at the lobe of her ear with a larger pearl hanging down which was surrounded by diamonds.

Queen Rania completed the look with golden eyeshadow and pink lipstick, which could be seen as the newly wedded royal couple waved to the crowd in their wedding car before making their way to their reception.

In the evening, Queen Rania wore another equally stunning Bruce Oldfield creation which was a golden and ivory satin wrap-over style dress.

It featured a similar ballgown skirt as her bridal dress but was sleeveless with a V-neck bodice and thick straps.

Meanwhile, her husband who was known as Hussein, Crown Prince of Jordan at the time, wore a black-and-red military uniform for the occasion.

Last year, Queen Rania marked her 30th wedding anniversary with an Instagram post which featured pictures of the couple alongside a note to her husband.

She wrote: “Each passing day brings us closer, and each passing year shows me just how incredibly blessed I am to spend my life with you. Happy 30th anniversary, my King.”

The post featured pictures of the royal couple throughout the years, which included a picture of Queen Rania and King Abdullah smiling at each other on the wedding day.
