The Royal Family has been urged to remove any mentions of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from its official page to appease royal fans.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's page on the website has already been heavily modified since they stepped down, with Harry's 2016 statement regarding the poor treatment of Meghan removed in recent weeks.

The statement appears to have been removed from the website in December 2023, but the change was only recently spotted by “eagle-eyed royal fans." But to expert Kinsey Schofield, the move is not enough to appease royal watchers.

Ms Schofield, founder of To Di For Daily and Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered, told the Daily Express: “Fans that side with the working royals really want Harry and Meghan removed from the site in general.

“They feel like that connection only gives the Sussexes credibility and in giving them that credibility or platform, the Royal Family is furthering Harry and Meghan’s destructive cause, which some would argue is disrupting the monarchy.”

According to Ms Schofield, the general consensus is that the Royal Family should “distance themselves” from the Sussexes and “remove them from their website completely” because the Sussexes are considered a “liability.”

She claimed that Prince William originally agreed to issue the press release in 2016 because he could relate to Harry’s concerns about his significant other being mistreated and he had wanted to help his little brother.

However, the relationship between the two brothers has since collapsed following Harry and Meghan's departure from the institution.

Ms Schofield claimed that those who support the Royal Family consider Harry and Meghan “a liability to the future of the monarchy.”

She did concede the removal of the statement was likely part of efforts by the Palace to tidy up the website.

The Royal Family has experienced significant changes in recent years, including the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the forced retirement of Prince Andrew from official duties.

Ms Schofield concluded that the removal "was just a natural evolution of the site."
