Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton 'didn't click' says expert
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan Markle have long been dogged by rumours of a feud between them allegedly sparked by a confrontation shortly before the Duchess of Sussex joined the Royal Family. The upcoming biography 'Finding Freedom', which details the early relationship of Meghan with Prince Harry and her becoming a royal, dismissed any claims of a confrontation. Speaking to ET, royal expert Katie Nicholl said royal insiders reported the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex simply had not "click" despite attempts to forge a relationship earlier on.
Ms Nicholl said: "For a long time there had been rumours that the two girls hadn’t quite clicked.
"You had headlines of the duelling Duchesses. They just didn’t have very much in common.
"I was always told there had never been a cat fight as such between them, I was told there had never been a fallout over anything specific. I was told they simply didn’t click.
"They didn’t have a huge amount in common and this seems to be reinforced in the book that apparently Kate felt they had nothing more in common than the fact they lived at the same palace."

The royal commentator said Meghan Markle had hoped Kate would offer her help to the newly-minted royal because of her experience as a commoner married into the Royal Family.
Ms Nicholl claimed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had attempted to befriend the Duchess of Sussex, with Kate reportedly "making an effort" to cook Meghan's favourite meal during a dinner together.
She continued: "Meghan by all accounts had hoped that Kate would show her the ropes.
"In fairness to the Cambridges, they did make certain attempts to befriend Meghan, they invited her out for drinks.

"They hosted the couple the Christmas after their engagement where Kate apparently made an effort in the kitchen to cook Meghan’s favourite vegan meals.
"Clearly the Cabridges feel they did try but obviously Meghan and Harry feel like they haven’t tried enough."
The commentator reporter a close friend of Prince Harry had previously warned her the Duke and Duchess of Sussex felt Prince William and Kate had not "rolled out the red carpet" for them.
She added: "I was told from a source very close to Prince Harry that they didn’t feel they had rolled out the red carpet.

"William and Kate feel like they did go out of their way to make Meghan feel welcome, particularly that first Christmas.
"Inviting them into the sanctity of Anmer Hall is something they don’t do for anyone and then Meghan and Harry feeling they could have done a lot more.
"There were flowers sent to Meghan on her birthday, Kate would have felt that was a lovely gesture. Apparently Meghan felt that wasn’t enough."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex in January announced they would take a step back from royal duties to focus on becoming more independent from the Royal Family.
Following a brief return to the UK in early March, Meghan and Harry relocated to Los Angeles with their son Archie.
The pair were expected to launch a new non-profit organisation focussed on causes they support but were forced to temporarily shelve their plans because of the coronavirus pandemic.
