Hardacres release date, episode count and cast as new Channel 5 series debuts

The Hardacres comes from the creators of All Creatures Great And Small so there's plenty of buzz around the latest Channel 5 drama.

The Hardacres is on the horizon but when exactly will it come out and who are the recognisable stars bringing the story to life?

Based on CL Skelton’s best-selling novel series of the same name, The Hardacres is a true rags-to-riches story set in the late 1800s.

The Hardacre family have spent their lives living on a grimy fish dock but, when they make their fortune, they move into a vast country estate - how will they adjust to their new lives?

Thankfully, there isn’t too long to go before the eagerly anticipated period drama makes its debut on Channel 5.

The Hardacres will premiere on Monday, October 7, at 9pm on Channel 5.

The Hardacres episode count 

The Hardacres will be made up of six episodes in total with a single instalment airing weekly in the same time slot on Channel 5.

This means that the finale, as long as the schedule doesn’t change, should air on Monday, November 11.

Episodes of The Hardacres are also going to be made available on its streamer My5.

There are a number of familiar faces starring in The Hardacres which makes the drama even more exciting.

Taking on the role of the man of the house Sam Hardacre is Liam McMahon who was Daniel in the 2022 series Silverpoint and has had roles in Doctors, The Fall, Mrs Sidhu Investigates and Coronation Street.

He is joined by actress Claire Cooper whose biggest role to date was as Jacqui McQueen in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks but has since been in The Witcher: Blood Origin, Snatch and Knightfall. She is behind Sam’s devoted wife Mary Hardacre.

Time season two and Shetland actress Julie Graham plays Ma, Mary’s mum, Ackley Bridge actor Adam Little is the couple’s son Joe Hardacre while newcomers Shannon Lavelle and Zak Ford-Williams are behind their other children Liza and Harry.

The Hardacres premieres on Monday, October 7, at 9pm on Channel 5.
