Princess Beatrice receives surprising message from Edo’s ex-girlfriend ahead of wedding
PRINCESS BEATRICE and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have received a heartwarming message ahead of their nuptials from the groom-to-be’s ex-girlfriend.
Sarah Ferguson says Beatrice engagement is 'extraordinary'
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, known as Edo by family and friends, announced their engagement in late September, after dating for less than 12 months. The couple, who according to friends “hit it off immediately”, have been showered with congratulations and best wishes by members of their families, including Sarah Ferguson, mother of the bride-to-be, and Princess Eugenie, Beatrice’s sister.
The former girlfriend of Edo, architect and designer Dara Huang, was no exception, as she let the couple known she couldn’t wait to “bring their families together”.
Ms Huang said following the engagement announcement: “I wish them all the best and look forward to bringing our families together.”
Edo, a property tycoon who inherited the Italian title of Count from his grandfather, dated Ms Huang for three years.
The pair’s son, Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi, nicknamed Wolfie, was born in 2016, and one source claimed Beatrice has already got to know him very well.
They told People magazine: “Edo is easily one of the best dads.
“He is so involved, he is so committed to this little boy, and Beatrice is already showing that she’s a fantastic step-mummy already.”
As Ms Huang works half of her time in London and half in Hong Kong, Edo, who shares joint custody of Christopher, lives with their son while she is in Asia.

This has given Beatrice plenty of opportunities to get to learn the toddler.
The source continued: “They’ve been on family vacations together already.
“They are really happy, there’s no better person they could have for a step-mummy.”
Ms Huang and Edo are believed to have met in London through common friends in 2015.
And, according to a friend, they broke up just six months before the property developer was first spotted with Beatrice.
Ms Huang was travelling for work in Thailand when the news broke, the MailOnline wrote.
Ms Huang is believed to have maintained a good relationship with her ex, and one source has claimed she will even attend Beatrice and Edo’s Royal Wedding next year.
They said: “Dana loves her son to bits and, like any mother, she is very protective.
“But in a very modern and grown-up way, she is totally happy that Beatrice will be developing a relationship with her son and is happy that he will attend the wedding as Edo’s best man.”
Buckingham Palace has yet to release further details regarding when and where the wedding will take place.
But a palace spokesman confirmed to Express.co.uk Beatrice’s nuptials will be privately-funded.
This comes after Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank cost the taxpayer around £2 million, sparking the outrage of anti-royal campaigning group Republic.
Beatrice’s wedding marks the fourth royal nuptials in two years.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry married on May 19 2018.
Beatrice’s sister Eugenie tied the knot on October 12 last year.
And Lady Gabriella Windsor celebrated her big day on May 18 this year.
All these royal brides celebrated their weddings at St George’s Chapel in Windsor - and Lady Gabriella was the only privately-funded one.
British taxpayer money traditionally goes towards royal weddings to help towards security costs.
