Gordon Ramsay’s secret sweet gesture to Olympian Adam Peaty
Gordon Ramsay said he admires Adam Peaty's "determination" and feels he can use it to "outsmart" his opponents.
Gordon Ramsay credited Adam Peaty saying the Olympic swimmer has sheer “determination”. The 57-year-old celebrity chef sweetly shared he believed in the athlete ahead of his silver medal win on Sunday.
Adam, 29, dates Gordon’s daughter Holly, 24, who is said to be a huge support to the Olympian. Since they started dating Gordon has been spotted out on many occasions with him and struck up a close relationship.
In a recent interview with the BBC Gordon shared that they both suffer from red mist. However, he credited the swimming star saying: “You've got that determination to outsmart everyone.”
Before adding: “With that comes anger that is misconstrued.” It's a trait that Gordon can relate to, given that he is best known for his foul-mouthed TV rants and scathing outbursts that have widely circulated across social media over the years.
The sportsman shared he gets into a state of fury in the build-up to a major race and must compose himself before jumping into the pool. Gordon made light of how he copes under extreme pressure and added: “How do you vent, because I get it straight off my chest.”
Adam who found fame after his stellar Olympic success, confessed he attempts to calm down by focusing on “happy” times with his stunning girlfriend and his young son George.
He was heard saying: “If anything, I'm trying to calm myself down because I'm too excited, playlist, stretching [or] thinking of happy moments with Holly, George, my mum and dad.”
“So flooding the mind with optimism and hope until 10 minutes before that race and that's when I see red mist and that's when I start to get really angry.”

Gordon was quick to agree sharing that he is no stranger to the feeling and uses similar tactics to Adam.
This came after the athlete gushed over his partner and revealed that Holly is “a huge part of” the success of the Team GB Olympic swimming team.
He admitted that she routinely cooks for the athletes in the camp and is a much-loved member of their team.
Adam and Holly met back in 2021 after the British swimming legend took part in the Strictly Come Dancing series with the latter’s sister, Tilly.
They went public with their relationship two years later, ahead of the Uttoxeter-born athlete’s third appearance at the Olympic Games.
Explaining the importance of Holly's presence in the camp in Paris, Peaty told Heart: “[She cooks for me] every day. I’ve learned, I actually lost the will to cook but I’ve learned the skill to cook now. Yeah, she’s absolutely brilliant. She has the team round, we have team breakfasts.”
