Ryan Reynolds sweet nod to football team Wrexham in Deadpool and Wolverine
Deadpool and Wolverine see real-life friends Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman unite on the big screen.

Ryan Reynolds is currently doing his day job as a movie star promoting his latest movie Deadpool and Wolverine. His beloved Wrexham FC is never far from his thoughts though and he gave them a special nod in the big-screen superhero blockbuster.
The eagerly awaited flick sees him team up with real-life friend Hugh Jackman who reprises his role as Wolverine. With cameos and easter eggs galore, it is a superhero geek's dream.
But one scene is somewhat stolen by Wrexham as Ryan, who was a co-writer on the movie, utilises Marvel's multiverse concept to introduce other versions of Deadpool - including a Wrexham Deadpool. While the character doesn't say anything the camera lingers on the Wrexham emblem on his chest in a close-up up ensuring that viewers get the reference.
The multiverse is the hypothetical set of all universes. Together, these universes are presumed to comprise everything that exists in multiple versions allowing numerous Deadpools to exist.
Alongside the Wrexham version, we also meet Lady Deadpool who was teased in the trailer. She is played by Ryan's wife Blake Lively.
The Deadpool variant isn't the only nod to Wrexham as eagle eyed fans spotted striker Ollie Palmer in the background of a scene in an early trailer.
He appears to make his brief background appearance in a scene in which Deadpool walks over to Wolverine at a bar.
Ryan purchased Welsh side Wrexham, one of the world's oldest soccer teams, with It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney in November 2020 with the deal finalised in February 2021.
The pair spent $2.5 million on the purchase and have invested millions more in the club since.
When they took over the club the team were in the fifth tier of the English game but they have since been promoted to the English Football League and are bidding for back-to-back promotions, which would take the team to third-tier League One.

Their efforts to turn the teams fortunes around have been documented in the compelling FX documentary series Welcome To Wrexham, which has three seasons to date and has given the team a global profile.
Following the men's team's leap into the third tier of English football in April following a 6-0 win over Forest Green Rovers Ryan couldn't hide his joy.
Taking to X he wrote: "A few years ago, if you told me I would be crying tears of joy over a football match taking place in North Wales, you would be Rob McElhenney.
"Congrats to Wrexham and to my co-chairman in crime. Double up the town! This is the ride of our lives."
Deadpool and Wolverine is in cinemas on July 25.
