Kerry Katona admits not seeing daughter for a year in painful separation

Kerry Katona broke down in tears after admitting she's now "done her parenting bit" and her daughter Molly is in another country living her own life.

Kerry Katona emotionally revealed that she'll soon be reuniting with her eldest daughter Molly for the first time in almost a year.

This week, the 22-year-old - and the other child she shares with ex-Westlife heart-throb Brian McFadden, 21-year-old Lily - will make the trip back from their dad's homeland of Ireland to be with Kerry.

However, she is delighted at the thought of welcoming the pair back for a visit to see how they've "flourished" in the months they've been separated. Talking in her latest OK! magazine column, Kerry confessed: "I can’t wait to have them back. I haven’t seen Molly in almost a year!"

She added that they remain close and talk on the phone "every single day", but that her eldest "just hasn’t been home to visit in a while". Kerry elaborated that Lily now has a "good job" in Ireland, which has activated her maternal pride.

"It’s nice for me to see my kids flourish. I’ve done my parenting bit and now it’s their turn to live [their] lives," she wrote. However, Lily is planning on taking a holiday soon, which is worrying Kerry after Jay Slater's tragedy in Tenerife hit the headlines.

"It doesn’t get easier," she reflected, recalling how the teenager had suffered accidental death after falling during a walk in a rural area.

Although Molly and Lily have chosen to live a relatively quiet life away from the public eye, that's not the case for 17-year-old Heidi, who intends to follow in her mum's footsteps for stardom.

Kerry, of course, has made it her mission to help.

Heidi recently told OK! magazine: "I don't care what I do, I just want to be famous. It's not even a 'want', it's something I know. I'm going to get there eventually."

She previously appeared on The Voice Kids in 2020 and made it to the second round, suggesting she was harbouring ambitions to be a singer.

However, Heidi has had a change of heart about plans to try out for Love Island, claiming she'd be too "embarrassed" for her family to see her dating in such a public setting.

Kerry, however, has encouraged her - and she's not shy herself, as she strips down for OnlyFans to earn a lucrative regular income.
