Strictly’s Nadiya Bychkova flooded with support as Kai breaks silence after split

Strictly Come Dancing fans have flooded Nadiya Bychkova with support after her reported split from fellow pro dancer Kai Widdrington.

The pair, both dancers on the crisis hit BBC series, had dated since summer 2022 after they met on the set of Strictly.

Ukrainian/Slovenian blonde bombshell Nadiya, 33, and Southampton born Kai, 27, fell in love on the show and ended up touring the UK together as well as dancing each year on the hit BBC series.

But today it was reported that the pair had decided to call time on their relationship, with one insider citing “the pressures of touring - being in each other’s space 24/7, and the stress of performing a sell-out show eventually took its toll," a friend told The Sun. No third party is involved.

This afternoon, fans flooded Nadiya Bychkova’s latest Instagram post with messages of support.

Nadiya’s latest post, in which she announced she had taken her daughter to the Paradox Museum in London, had messages from fans backing her.

@hoblouise said: “Gorgeous photos! So pleased you both had precious time together.”

And hours later, Kai Widdrington posted on Instagram with his most recent celebrity Strictly partner, Angela Rippon.

Posting for the first time since the reports of his split with Nadiya broke, Kai wrote about his invitation to see Parliament being opened with Angela by his side.

He said: “Thank you to mr speaker for the invitation to the state opening of parliament

Fans backed him and said it was refreshing to see ‘some positivity’ surrounding Strictly following the axeing of Graziano di Prima and reports of problems between pros and celebrities backstage.

@johnsondenise1 said: “Lovely and great to see some positive Strictly couples!”

It follows former pro Giovanni Pernice leaving the lineup of dancers, although Gio denies any wrongdoing, while Zara McDermott has been among Strictly stars to speak up about issues in training while on the show.

It has led to the BBC announcing that chaperones will be used to support celebrities on the show from this coming series.
