TV presenter and former journalist Angela Rippon, 79, has shared her thoughts on what the late Princess Diana would've said about Prince Harry and Prince William's on-going feud.

The warring brothers haven't been seen together for two years, since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, and are said to have not spoken to each other at the funeral of their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes, earlier this week.

The brothers remain estranged following Harry and his wife Meghan Markle's abrupt exit from royal life to pursue a new life in Los Angeles, and it seems there is no chance of reconciliation at the moment.

Angela, who famously interviewed Princess Diana and King Charles ahead of their wedding in 1981, has given an insight into how Diana would feel about her sons not speaking.

Talking exclusively to Express.co.uk at the Strictly costume exhibition at Berkley Castle, Angela said: "She's a mum. She was a mum. Don't forget, you know, any royal or whatever, anything else, she was a mother. And as a mother, I'm sure s she would have been incredibly sad that her two sons are at loggerheads."

When asked if she would've tried to "bang their heads together" to reconcile them, Angela said: "She might well have done, I don't know, but she would have been enormously sad to think that her two darling boys were not speaking to each other."

It seems that a reconciliation between the brothers may not happen any time soon, with former BBC royal correspondent Michael Cole telling MailOnline: "'As things are at present, reconciliation may never happen, such is the hurt Prince William feels at his brother's betrayals and snipes in interviews, a television series and his ghost-written book 'Spare', the biggest-selling 'autobiography' ever published."

Angela, who took part in the 2023 series of Strictly Come Dancing, also shared her disappointment at her dance partner Kai Widdrington not getting a new partner this year.

She said: "I'm really disappointed for him. I'm equally disappointed for female celebs, because he's a brilliant all around dancer, he's a fabulous teacher, wonderful teacher.

"He's got the patience and he's got humour, and he's brilliant at what he does. And I'm really disappointed for them, because they're not going to have the fun and the joy that I had in dancing with him and learning from him."

Angela and Kai managed to make it to week nine's Blackpool special, and her time on the series certainly got people talking, as her agility and impressive flexibility left viewers transfixed.

Strictly returns for a new series on September 21 on BBC1.
