Eamonn Holmes has been spotted with co-star Hayley Sparkes enjoying afternoon tea at the Down Hall Hotel in Bishop's Stortford. The outing comes just shortly after it was revealed that Eamonn and his wife Ruth Langsford are filing for divorce.

The British presenter looked smart in a blue suit whilst Hayley wore a red floral frock. She uploaded a snap of the pair online and wrote on Instagram: " What a great start to the week- filming at the stunning Down Hall Hotel and spa for Not Just Travel.

"Thank you so much to the lovely team at Down Hall for looking after all of us so well and for the delicious afternoon tea!" This is one of Eamonn's first public appearance since his separation news.

Meanwhile, Ruth has taken an "extended break" from her role on ITV's Loose Women. According to a source in The Sun, Ruth would "not be on screen all week."

They said: "She has decided to extend her break from ITV so will not yet be making a return to the Loose Women panel." Express.co.uk has previously contacted Ruth’s representative for comment.

The presenting duo, who previously hosted This Morning together, share a son together named Jack. Although Jack is Ruth's only child, Eamonn has two sons and a daughter; Declan, Rebecca, and Niall, with his ex-wife Gabrielle.

Meanwhile, Eamonn has taken a week's holiday from his job on GB News. His break from hosting duties alongside co-host Isabel Webster came just as it was revealed about his split from Ruth.

Sources have previously told Express Online that their work commitments had taken them "in different directions", but they are determined to "stay friends".

The duo tied the knot in 2010 after dating for 13 years in a luxury wedding ceremony in Hampshire. Neither Ruth or Eamonn have commented on the sad split and neither has their son, Jack.

Ruth has previously admitted that when her son went off to university, she felt like her "heart had been ripped out". She recalled during a podcast episode that she went into Jack's room and "cried" during his first day away from home.

Last year, Jack celebrated his 21st birthday and the proud parents threw him a party. They documented the special day on social media and Ruth said on Instagram: "A wonderful weekend spent celebrating our son Jack’s 21st birthday….where did those years go?!!! Had to do my birthday table of course….it’s family tradition!!"
