Stacey Dooley shared the secret to winning Strictly Come Dancing six years after lifting the Glitterball Trophy. The amateur dancer wowed audiences beating Pussycat Doll star Ashley Roberts and Steps bandmate Faye Tozer for the win.

The TV presenter lifted the lid on her experience on the BBC show as the journalist addressed how the programme helped to launch her career and take it to the next level of fame.

Stacey, 37, joined Emily Atack on the second series of Soap & Glory's Soaking Up Life Vodcast where she opened up about her time on Strictly.

Host Emily asked the documentary maker about her partnership with Kevin Clifton, as she cheekily quizzed: "Were you having secret snogging training sessions?"

"No," Stacey replied. "Nothing that exciting."

The presenter was paired with Kevin on Strictly but the couple embarked on a relationship months after the show ended and have since welcomed their daughter Minnie into the world.

Stacey then dished out her secret to securing the coveted win.

She explained: "[Kevin] was such a good teacher, he's a good egg. I was getting there early because I was so useless... I remember week two, six and ten being such a ball ache and I think I was just hormonal as I was due on.

"There was such a sense of urgency to get the routine nailed... and you don't want that [tampon] flying around and hitting the warmup guy."

She added: "In the final, I flashed... anything to win... literally got my fanny out."

Strictly: Stacey and Kevin dance Paso Doble in final

Fans may recall Stacey making headlines when the presenter flashed her underwear after she suffered a wardrobe malfunction. As she strutted around the dance floor for the Paso Doble, in the widely-viewed video, Stacey can be seen whipping her black skirt up to reveal nude underwear beneath.

Meanwhile, Emily has returned for a second series of Soap & Glory's Soaking Up Life, and in this episode the host and Stacey tried out the new Spectacu-Lips pH Lip & Cheek Glow Oil (£12.99), a colour-adapting makeup formula which reacts with your individual skin and lip pH level, transforming from clear oil to your very own personalised pink.
