GMB's Susanna Reid shares secret 'tip off' for first Strictly 2024 contestant

Susanna Reid dropped a huge hint about the first star who might join BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.

GMB: Susanna jokes that Andi is tipped for new Strictly series

Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid hinted that she knew who would be next to join Strictly Come Dancing's roster of celebrity dancers in the 2024 line up.

The ITV presenter was at the helm of Tuesday morning's episode, with Ed Balls when she teased that one of her co-stars, Andi Peters, might be donning his dance shoes. Teasing the news, Susanna said: "And our tip for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing... Andi is live in the studio with his moves."

Ed added: "Fabulous" before the camera panned to Andi who was on a platform above them in the ITV studio.

He explained: "Susanna thinks that my comedy way of entering the studio today which is this..." The competition presenter then showed off a move or two as he finished what he was saying, adding: "Will get me a seven on Strictly Come Dancing. Would you give that a 10? Hallelujah."

Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to BBC for the 20th series later this year. While the official line up of celebrities hasn't been revealed yet, rumours have been swirling around those set to take part.

Some of the latest names believed to be dropped into the hat are businessman David Fishwick and BBC actor and comedian Chris McCausland.

A source told the press that entrepreneur, Dave, has told friends he has accepted an offer to appear on the BBC dance show, as they said: "Strictly think his inspiring back story will win him new fans on and shine a spotlight on the amazing work he has done for people and business in Lancashire.

"Dave has told his friends he has accepted and cannot wait to get started."

Meanwhile, Chris, who lost his sight aged 22 due to a hereditary condition, is rumoured to be the first ever blind contestant onthe BBC show. It comes just three years after the BBC show made history with deaf contestant Rose Ayling-Ellis.

She raised awareness for her disability and danced her way to the Glitterball trophy with pro partner Giovanni Pernice.

He had previously revealed how losing his sight, which started to deteriorate in his university days, had been a "painful", "scary" and "embarrassing" experience. It derailed his plans to finish his degree and meant that he could no longer be a spy for MI5, despite beating 3,000 applicants to a place in the final 30.
