Carlos Alcaraz has added videos of himself winning Wimbledon last year to his grasscourt masterclass as he bids to complete the Channel Slam.

The Spanish superstar revealed last year he watched footage of the Big Four’s footwork before winning Queen’s Club and The Championships.

This year the French Open champion lost his first grasscourt match since the start of last year when he was beaten in the second round by Jack Draper.

And the world No.3 has remained in London and returned to his studies to get ready for his title defence.

“I'm still watching videos of Roger, of Andy, of Rafa. Novak,” said Alcaraz, 21.

“I put in videos of myself last year - I'm not going to lie - just to see what I did or how I did it Just moving, hitting shots, to do the same as I did last year.

“I'm feeling great. Honestly, after Queen's, I had a lot of days to adapt my game, to practice, to get better.

“Yeah, I remember after the losing in Queen's, the next day I started practicing my movement, my shots, just to be more comfortable moving on grass, playing on grass this year.

“Right now I had a great practices with great players just to see how is my level. I'm excited to start the tournament and hopefully have the same result as last year.”

Winning the French Open and Wimbledon - the Channel Slam - is so difficult because there is only three weeks to transition from clay to grass.

In the Open era, it has only been done by the greats - Rod Laver (1969), Bjorn Borg (1978-80), Rafa Nadal (2008 and 2010), Roger Federer (2009) and Novak Djokovic (2021).

Alcaraz, who will go to the Australian Open in January seeking a career Grand Slam, said: “Winning Grand Slams is difficult. Obviously changing from clay to a grass court, totally different surfaces, totally different game of play.

“Let's say I'm going to try. Obviously I want to put my name on that short list to win Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year. I know that there's going to be a really difficult and big challenge for me, but I think I'm ready to do it.

“I'm doing great work these last weeks just to get ready. I feel comfortable to play Wimbledon here at 100 per cent.”
