Kyrie Irving to SNUB LeBron James, Lakers to sign with Knicks - deal 'already worked out'
KYRIE IRVING is set to snub LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in order to move to the New York Knicks, and the deal is already worked out for him to move.
That is according to NBA analyst Shannon Sharpe.
Irving is currently unhappy at the Boston Celtics, after a torrid season.
The Celtics were expected to get to the NBA Finals this year, but so far have fallen well below expectations.
Boston have lost their last five consecutive games in which Irving has started.
Since February 5, however, they have won all three games without the superstar.
On Wednesday night, Irving declared he just wanted the regular season to be over.
He will become a free agent at the end of the season, and reports have linked him with a move away from the franchise, as he has repeatedly seemed fed up.
The star insisted that he will wait until July 1 before making his decision, and has flirted with the idea of playing with James again.
Speaking on Fox Sport’s Undisputed show, Sharpe insisted that he would love to have Irving in Los Angeles, but believes he has already agreed to join the Knicks.
New York have two max salary slots available for free agents this summer, and are believed to be looking at Irving and Kevin Durant.
“I still want him back,” Sharpe said.
“I’d still take him in LA.
“I don’t think he’s coming, though.
“I think he’s going to the Knicks, and that there’s a package deal already worked out.
“He’s not coming back to LeBron, but they’ve got issues [in Boston].”
