Eden Hazard - 5 things you need to know
Phil Neville feels John Stones is better suited to playing with Chris Smalling at Manchester United than Raphael Varane.
"Varane? I know Mourinho loves him a lot. He raved about him a lot," Neville said in a Carlsberg interview.
"He's probably similar to John Stones and so you probably wouldn't bring them both in. He could catch pigeons he's so fast. Stones, Varane if you could bring one of the in you'd be strengthening our back four.
"I think Stones would probably be a better partner (for Chris Smalling).
"In a partnership you need difference; Varane is similar to Chris - he's an out and out defender. He's got speed and strength whereas Stones has got a bit of extra quality on the ball. Bruce and Pallister, Stam and Johnsen. You need one to compliment the other. Stones and Varane could play with anyone."
