Chelsea and Man City BOOSTED in Lionel Messi chase as agent rules out PSG switch
CHELSEA and Manchester City have been boosted in their pursuit of Barcelona star Lionel Messi after a Ligue 1 agent ruled out a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The French giants were thought to be ready to throw their hat into the ring to sign Messi following recent speculation that the diminutive Argentine was contemplating a move away from Barca.
Chelsea and City are the English clubs thought to have the best chance of signing Messi should that come to pass, although Manchester United and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the 27-year-old.
And a move to the Premier League looks slightly more likely with PSG seemingly not an option.

A Ligue 1 agent
An agent told Sport24: "The PSG project is exciting, but Ligue 1 is prohibitive.
"I do not see Messi playing against Guingamp or Reims.
"It has put off many players. This is also why PSG are obliged to pay their players double their value."
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said recently: "Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are happy at Barcelona and Madrid.
"I respect these two clubs and I have a good relationship with their presidents.
"If I was interested in one of their players, first I would talk to their president."
