Manchester United will almost immediately recoup over half of the £52million fee they are set to pay to sign Lille defender Leny Yoro in the coming days. Yoro is reportedly completing his medical before signing a five-year contract at Old Trafford as INEOS look to make a statement in their first summer transfer window.

United have already confirmed the arrival of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee in a £35m deal and will next add one of the world's most exciting young centre-backs to their ranks.

The 18-year-old's switch will bump the club's summer spending to £87m, which may leave further signings relying on player sales.

United have so far raised around £19m by offloading Alvaro Fernandez to Benfica, Donny Van de Beek to Girona and Willy Kambwala to Villarreal.

And they are primed to make their biggest sale of the summer yet imminently, which will see them pocket a huge chunk of the fee splashed on Yoro.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Marseille are set to complete the signing of Mason Greenwood after all parties reached an agreement.

United will reportedly receive a £27m package for the 22-year-old forward, plus a 50 per cent sell-on clause.

It's claimed that Marseille booked a private flight to transport Greenwood to France, and he is now due to undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on a five-year contract.

The sale would total United's kitty from offloading players at £46m, with several more expected to depart before the summer deadline.

As an academy graduate, Greenwood's fee, thought to be £24m fixed and £3m in add-ons, will enter the books as pure profit.

That will go a long way in ensuring that United remain in line with Financial Fair Play and the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

The Red Devils reportedly want another centre-back but will likely have to wait until one of Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof is sold before making a move.

Matthijs de Ligt has agreed personal terms ahead of a potential switch from Bayern Munich, but United prioritised pushing through a deal for Yoro.

Erik ten Hag is also claimed to want a new midfielder, which is set to depend on whether the club receives a suitable offer for Casemiro amid interest from Saudi Arabia.

A right-back is reportedly on the agenda, too, with West Ham United stepping up their interest in Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has entered the final year of his contract.

But United have made a strong start to the summer, acquiring Zirkzee and Yoro for a net spend of £41m once Greenwood's sale goes through.
