Wynne Evans found himself at the mercy of his son today. The Strictly Come Dancing star got locked in his bedroom before he was due to appear on his morning show on BBC Radio Wales.

The 52 year old uploaded a video of himself where he pleaded for help from his 51,700 followers. Fortunately, his calls were heard by his son who immediately came to the rescue.

Speaking on his morning show, Wynne exclaimed: "At seven o'clock this morning I nearly didn't make it because, well, I took a little video. This is what happened..."

Sharing the ordeal on social media he said: "Excuse the general nakedness but I've woken up this morning. Gone to go out my bedroom door..."

He pulled at the handle but still, the door would not open.

Wynne continued: "I'm locked in my bedroom. I've got a show in Barry Island this morning. So I need to ring my son who is famous for deep sleeping. See if I can get him up and get ladders to the window."

He pleaded: "Help."

The Go Compare star, who is due to appear on Strictly in the coming weeks, captioned the post: "HELP or it could be very quiet on radio wales this morning @bbccymruwales."

Social media users flocked to comment as one person said: "This made me laugh, it happened to me, I’m sure they didn’t believe me when I phoned work to tell them."

A second remarked: "I'm laughing again. Why do you have the door shut? We keep ours open. Time to take the lock apart."

A third added: "Omg!! Hope you’re out soon!!"

In an update the presenter was relieved to find his young "prince" come to the rescue.

In a second video Wynne explained: "So update, there's my little prince," as he panned the camera outside to show his son putting a ladder against his bedroom window ledge.

"Now, we're going to try and get out of the bedroom," he chuckled.

Wynne later shared they also had to try and get the family dog out of the bedroom.

He told listeners: "The tricky bit was trying to get my dog out of the window but I did manage to persuade him to come out of the window as well.

"We all got down the ladder, then I got dressed, because I was actually in my pants at the time. Everybody will be pleased to know. Dignity out of the window."
