LGBTQ+ activist concerned by potential Qatari takeover of Man Utd
Sheikh Jassim ‘did the best with his bid to buy Manchester United’, according to Fabrizio Romano. And use of past tense suggests the Qatari billionaire won’t be making a sixth offer. The Glazers are yet to indicate their preferred candidate, with the saga continuing to rumble on and frustrating Erik ten Hag in the process.
Sheikh Jassim has made five bids for United and is confident he’ll soon be given the keys to Old Trafford.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe can’t be ruled out at this stage, however, while firms such as Elliot Management and Carlyle Group are ready to provide the Glazers with minority investment.
Now, according to Romano, Sheikh Jassim ‘did the best’ with his bid.
And the use of past tense suggests the mysterious figure won’t be making a sixth approach, meaning his fifth bid is his last
"I understand Manchester United fans being tired about the story, but it is about closing the deal,” Romano told GiveMeSport.
"It's on the Glazers. I think Sheikh Jassim did his best with his bid.

Meanwhile, United icon Gary Neville has opened up on why he didn’t criticise the Glazers during his playing days.
"When the Glazers came into the club, Manchester United had the best team, the best stadium and the best training ground,” he said.
"We're now second-rate in all of those categories and we're nowhere near it.
“People used to say I took their money - I never took a penny from them.
“I played for United from 1986 as a kid joining the academy.

"They came in 2004 and they never put money into the club.
“I was focused on playing football and Sir Alex Ferguson, to be fair, would have probably got rid of any footballer if they started talking about the owners.
"We didn't do that, we were employees and we got on with it.
“They came to the training ground once and a few times after winning the league title they might pop in the dressing room.
“I never had a long conversation with any of them."
