Man Utd set price for Jadon Sancho transfer exit as Tottenham hatch summer plan
Manchester United star Jadon Sancho has emerged as a transfer target for Tottenham having blown hot and cold at Old Trafford so far.
Man United complete Jadon Sancho signing
Manchester United will want close to £60million to consider selling Jadon Sancho in this summer’s transfer window, according to reports. The England international has struggled ever since his move from Borussia Dortmund two years ago. And with Erik ten Hag yet to be convinced, the 23-year-old may be shown the door as a result with Tottenham showing interest.
Sancho struggled for United last season, managing just 10 goal involvements from 41 games and spending four months in the Netherlands.
And The Mirror say Tottenham are now considering a £50m swoop for the 23-year-old as the summer transfer window nears.
Upon returning from his time as an outcast, Sancho failed to scale the heights many expected - and toiled in last weekend’s FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City.
The report says rival clubs are monitoring Sancho amid uncertainty over his future at Old Trafford.
And Tottenham are in the mix to land the England international, with new boss Ange Postecoglou apparently an admirer.
Man Utd takeover: Garnacho could be set for awkward reunion after Sheikh Jassim approval
Tottenham are already in talks with Leicester over a deal for James Maddison.
They’re willing to pay a fee of £40m to land the playmaker, who is likely to lead an exodus over at the King Power Stadium.
But while Spurs value Sancho at around the £50m mark, they’ll need to bid even higher to tempt United into selling.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sanctioned a massive £73m transfer deal for the winger two years ago during his time as Red Devils manager.
And United would want ‘close to £60m’ to even consider a departure at this stage.

As well as Tottenham, Dortmund are also monitoring Sancho’s situation.
But while the Bundesliga giants would be open to the England forward returning to Germany, they’re only pursuing a loan deal.
Should Tottenham press ahead with a pursuit of Sancho, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Harry Kane.
The Red Devils could offer cash, plus Sancho, in order to acquire the England international.
Yet Tottenham would prefer to sell their talisman abroad, if at all, with Real Madrid another team interested.

United have a rocky relationship with their Premier League rivals, having failed to sign a single player from Tottenham since Dimitar Berbatov in 2008.
The likes of Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier have all been refused moves to the Red Devils in the years that have followed.
And United are keeping tabs on Kane alternatives, with Victor Osimhen and Rasmus Hojlund two players under consideration.
Meanwhile, speaking last weekend, Ten Hag vowed to fight for his ideas as he looks to strengthen his squad this summer.
"I have only one plan, that is to improve this club, improve this team,” said the 53-year-old.
“I will fight for my ideas. I will talk to the club about what we have to do for that.
“But I have to work with my staff, my players, to be better next season."
Mason Mount and Jeremie Frimpong are also targets for the club.
