BBC The Jetty start date and cast for 'electrifying' new crime drama announced
Jenna Coleman stars as Detective Ember Manning in the new BBC four-part series alongside stars actors from House of the Dragon, Happy Valley, and The Crown

The Jetty is the new "electrifying" drama from BBC. Starring Doctor Who's Jenna Coleman in the role of Detective Ember Manning , the four-part mystery examines sexual morality, age of consent, grooming, identity and memory.
The new crime darma will follow Jenna's character as she investigates a case that threatens to unravel the threads of her past. BBC bosses dropped a trailer for The Jetty last week which saw Jenna portay Ember for the first time.
In the short clip, Ember is seen giving someone on the phone a stern warning to stay away from her daughter before being seen breaking down in tears.
A synopsis for the new series, which is created and written by Cat Jones, reads: "When a fire tears through a property in a scenic Lancashire lake town, Detective Ember Manning (Jenna Coleman) must work out how it connects to a podcast journalist investigating a missing persons cold case and an illicit relationship between a man in his twenties and two underage girls.
"But as Ember gets close to the truth, it threatens to destroy her life – forcing her to re-evaluate everything she thought she knew about her past, present and the town she’s always called home. As much a coming-of-age story as a detective thriller, The Jetty asks big questions about sexual morality, identity and memory, in the places that Me Too has left behind."
A star-studded cast list stands alongside Jenna, including actors from House of the Dragon, Shadow and Bone, Bad Education, Happy Valley, The Crown, and Trollied.
When does The Jetty start?
The Jetty will launch on Monday, July 15 on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.

Starring alongside Jenna is Tom Glynn-Carney (House of the Dragon, SAS Rogue Heroes, Dunkirk), Ruby Stokes (Lockwood & Co., Rocks, Una), Archie Renaux (The Greatest Beer Run, Shadow and Bone, Romulus), and Laura Marcus (The Great Escaper, Bad Education, The Serpent Queen).
Joining them are Bo Bragason (The Ballad of Renegade Nell, The Radleys), Weruche Opia (High Desert, Slumberland, I May Destroy You), and Amelia Bullmore (Happy Valley, The Larkins, Scott and Bailey).
