Erik ten Hag wants Man Utd to use FA Cup final defeat as motivation
With Manchester United enduring yet another sluggish start to a transfer window, Erik ten Hag is fed up. The Dutchman is unhappy at the delay to proceedings, with the Glazers yet to sanction any signings while takeover talk continues to rumble on. And given the 53-year-old’s worsening mood, a departure from Old Trafford can’t be entirely and totally ruled out.
To make things clear, there’s nothing to currently suggest that Ten Hag is tempted to throw in the towel at United.
But with the Dutchman growing increasingly unhappy, is it really beyond the realms of possibility?
Ten Hag, like his predecessors, was sold a dream at United. One that would enable him to build, in his own words, the ‘best team in the world’.
It’s clear United need reinforcements, especially with fierce rivals Manchester City winning the treble last season.
But they’re dragging their feet and with the teams around them already strengthening, United are playing catch-up once again.
Therefore, Ten Hag could be forgiven for throwing in the towel. Express Sport now looks at four options the club would potentially turn to if that happened.
