Ten Hag details meeting with Ratcliffe amid Man Utd bid
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is willing to keep the Glazers at Manchester United because he’s hoping to show he will do whatever it takes in order to succeed with his takeover bid’, according to reports. The Americans have been in charge of the club ever since 2005. However, their time as owners seems to be drawing to a close with Ineos confident they’ll take control.
It emerged earlier on Sunday that Ratcliffe was ‘close’ to an agreement with the Glazers that would see Ineos take charge of the club.
However, brothers Joel and Avram are poised to stay on and keep a 20 per cent stake - a decision that has sparked a huge backlash among fans.
Now, according to 90min, Ratcliffe is willing to keep the family at Old Trafford because he’s ‘hoping to show he will do whatever it takes’ for his bid to be successful.
Sheikh Jassim has also launched a third bid for United, with the Qatari billionaire eager to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford.
And the Glazers have received offers regarding minority investment as well, with Elliot Management and Carlyle Group showing interest.

“We have an exciting sporting franchise, but the one thing that we don't have is a Premier [League] team."
Should Ratcliffe succeed, as expected, Ineos will take charge of things such as transfers, sports science and the redevelopment of Old Trafford and Carrington.
Meanwhile back in January, the communications director of Manchester United’s Supporters’ Trust responded positively to Ratcliffe’s interest - before talk of the Glazers potentially staying.
"What I would say is that we judge every bid by its merits,” he said.
"We welcome his interest and we want to see the nature of his proposal.

"For any bidder, we want to be sure that there won't be any more debt brought to the club, we want to be reassured that they have a plan to take United back to the top and we want to be reassured that they plan to work in partnership with the fans.
"We're all realistic enough to know that the Premier League is a global hub and a global game and you can see where the owners come from.
“We're all realistic enough to know that the new owner could come from anywhere.
"That said, most fans of most clubs would love somebody local - a local boy made good - coming back to invest in their club."
