Tottenham chief Daniel Levy has already overruled one boss as Julian Nagelsmann wanted
Tottenham chief Daniel Levy will lead the hunt for the club's new manager, with former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann reportedly the top target for the north London giants.
Head coach Antonio Conte leaves Tottenham by mutual consent
Tottenham chief Daniel Levy will lead the search for the club’s new manager following the recent departure of Antonio Conte, according to reports. And it’s claimed the Spurs supremo isn’t afraid to be bold, having previously rejected advice from Franco Baldini when it came to hiring Frank de Boer in 2014. Julian Nagelsmann is the club’s top managerial target for the time being, with the 35-year-old on the market following his recent departure from Bayern Munich.
Tottenham opted to sack Conte earlier in the week, shortly after he’d brutally torn into his players following a 3-3 draw with Southampton.
And the Daily Mail say Levy is set to take charge of the club’s latest managerial hunt, with Fabio Paratici slapped with a ban.
It’s claimed the Tottenham chief is set to take on footballing responsibilities and, back in 2014, rejected the advice of Baldini as Spurs searched for a new man to occupy the dugout.
Baldini reportedly implored the north London giants to hire De Boer, who was working at Ajax at the time.
Yet that didn’t happen with Levy opting to give Mauricio Pochettino the keys to the club, in a decision that then proceeded to pay off.

Pochettino had impressed at Southampton at the time, improving the Saints after initially been a controversial pick to take over from Nigel Adkins.
And he’d end up going on to impress at Tottenham, too, famously guiding them to the Champions League final in 2019 where they’d proceed to lose to Liverpool.
Now, the report says Tottenham’s top pick to take over is Nagelsmann - who is currently on the market.
The 35-year-old was surprisingly sacked by Bayern Munich last week, with Thomas Tuchel arriving as his successor over at the Allianz Arena.
Nagelsmann was linked with Tottenham earlier in his career but, now, the star seem to be aligning when it comes to a job in the capital this summer.
Pochettino has also emerged as a possibility, with the Argentine currently on the market as well.
The 51-year-old has been out of work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain back in the summer following a disappointing time in France.
Yet it’s Nagelsmann who seems to be frontrunner for the job and Jamie O’Hara thinks the German has the potential to be a huge hit if he moves to the Premier League.
“I’d love Spurs to get Julian Nagelsmann, he’d be an unbelievable appointment,” O’Hara told Grosvenor Sport.
“He’s a top, top manager. Bayern Munich were mad to sack him.
