Ralf Rangnick explains tactical change at half time after Brighton win
Some Manchester United players want Ralf Rangnick to change his formation once again ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match with Leeds, according to reports. The Red Devils have been using a 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 in recent weeks. Yet members of the squad feel another tweak would help results improve at Old Trafford.
Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United would often use a 4-2-3-1 formation.
The Norwegian would, for the most part, stick to that system regardless of how results were panning out.
When Rangnick took over from the former United star back in December, he initially used a 4-2-2-2 - having previously done the same with RB Leipzig over in Germany.
He then tweaked to a 4-3-3 before using a 4-2-3-1 in recent matches against the likes of Brighton, Southampton and Burnley.
However, according to The Athletic, some members within United’s squad feel Rangnick should alter his system again.

“This was highly important and another intense game coming up against Leeds, high speed football for 95 minutes and we need to recover and be in form for Elland Road on Sunday,” he said after his team’s 2-0 win over Brighton on Tuesday night.
Rangnick was also happy that United returned to winning ways after previously drawing with Burnley and Southampton.
“It felt better than the 35-40 minutes before that!” he said when asked how it felt at full time.
“Obviously, we should have killed the game off again, much earlier after the red card.
“We had five, six unbelievable chances to score, but, again, we didn’t and as long as it’s 1-0 and with the experience of the last three games – it’s normal that there is then a little bit of insecurity in the team.

“We were not quite lethal enough in those moments to kill the game off and it is always dangerous against 10 men.
“You can concede a goal. With Bruno’s goal, it was clear with only one minute to go that the game was over but it took very long before we put the game to bed.”
United beat Leeds 6-2 in the home fixture last season.
But the reverse, at Elland Road, ended in a drab 0-0 draw.
United also beat their fierce rivals 5-1 on the opening day of the current campaign, with Bruno Fernandes shining as Jadon Sancho made his debut.
