My Mum, Your Dad: Teaser trailer

The much-anticipated return of the smash ITV dating programme My Mum, Your Dad is but a stone's throw away!

Known as the "middle-aged Love Island", this captivating programme won the hearts of households nationwide following its debut last year.

Soon, it will once more roll out the red carpet for a fresh cohort of parent-lovers, put forward by their doting children in the hope of kindling novel romance.

The initial series unfolded the love narrative of Roger Hawes and Janey Smith - both met on the screen and have nurtured their adoration to the present day.

Their flourishing amour is evident to all, punctuated with several holiday trips, joint appearances on This Morning, and a relentless stream of endearing pictures on their socials that prominently capture tender moments of their blossoming relationship.

Owing to their tastefully crafted romance, fans are thrilled at the prospect of ITV's love saga making a comeback - a dream that has now turned into reality.

As revealed through commercials during England's Euro 2024 encounter against Slovakia on June 30, an enticing sneak peek of the show graced the screens, artfully set against the vibrantly romantic tune of Wet Wet Wet's iconic song Love Is All Around, as reported by Entertainment Daily.

Although an exact return date eludes us, the montage makes it known that viewers can expect a stellar September 2024 comeback - merely two months from now.

Recalling its inaugural Monday, 11 September launch the previous year, we speculate that the second run in 2024 could see a similar timeframe - possibly even as promptly as Monday, 9 September.

In their statement, they confirmed: "The critically acclaimed romance show is back for a second series. Produced by Lifted Entertainment part of ITV Studios the smash-hit series sees grown-up kids nominate their single parents to head into a luxury country retreat in the hope of finding love later in life."

Praised as 'heartwarming', 'hilarious' and lauded by critics for its 'cross-generational appeal', the show's first run was hailed as ITV's most successful new peak-time entertainment format, boasting an average viewership exceeding two million on all platforms.
