Liverpool not yet in position to turn up heat on Man City, says Jurgen Klopp
Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has joked he only needs to learn two Spanish phrases to help January signing Luis Diaz settle in at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp was desperate to sign Diaz and ensured the Reds pipped Tottenham to the blockbuster transfer of the former Porto star.
Diaz has impressed in his first few performances. He was instrumental in Takumi Minamino scoring the second goal in Liverpool’s 3-1 FA Cup win over Cardiff City on his debut.
Diaz then earned a maiden start against Leicester in midweek.
The 25-year-old, who has arrived from Porto for £49million, adds strength to Klopp’s wide options.
Liverpool had been criticised for relying too heavily on Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, and moved to give the prolific duo some competition.

Colombia international Diaz is most likely to play on the left of the front three ahead of left-back Robertson. The Scotland captain has quipped that he only needs to learn the Spanish for ‘man on’ and ‘time’.
“He doesn't speak much Scottish, that's for sure!” Robertson laughed to LFCTV.
“He sits next to me in the training room but his English is very, very little. The people who speak Spanish are helping him settle in a lot.
“I can help, I just kind of smile and laugh at him and try to make him feel comfortable. But I think I need to learn 'man on' or 'time' [in Spanish] and maybe that will do for now!
