Man Utd: Solskjaer urges team to use Europa pain to rebuild
Manchester United were tipped off about Joachim Andersen in 2017 by fitness coach at the time Stefano Rapetti, according to reports. The Denmark international has been linked with a move to both the Red Devils and Tottenham since the transfer window reopened. However, while that’s the case, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side appear to have other priorities.
Manchester United are looking to sign a centre-back this summer.
And Andersen is one player who has emerged as a potential target, having impressed for Fulham on loan from Sampdoria last term.
The Denmark international was a shining light amid a difficult campaign for the Cottagers, making 29 appearances in the top flight as they succumbed to relegation.
And the Manchester Evening News say that, back in 2017, United received a tip-off about the player.
Jose Mourinho was manager at the time and fitness coach Rapetti, who has since left Old Trafford, gave the Portuguese a glowing endorsement of the player.

“It has to be someone that’s going to be compatible with Maguire.
“If you spend the kind of money you did on Harry Maguire, you then have to follow it up by bringing someone in who can play with him.
“He’s the club captain; Victor Lindelof is too similar to him. It needs to be someone with pure, blistering pace, someone who can play out from the back.
“Everyone talks about Raphael Varane. I understand he’s a little bit older than most people would perhaps like, but you just have to go back to the days of Teddy Sheringham.
“I think we bought him when he was 32, and we went and won the treble with him. If Varane is available, then I’d go all out for him.”

The Spain international enjoyed a fine campaign last time out, helping the La Liga side to defy the odds and claim Europa League glory.
A deal for Jadon Sancho is close, too.
United have tried three times in the past to sign the 21-year-old, who has electrified the Bundesliga ever since moving to Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
But they’re now on the verge of announcing his move after finally agreeing a fee with Dortmund.
