Arsenal: Arteta comments on Daniel Ek takeover speculation
Daniel Ek has outlined his serious intentions of launching a takeover bid of Arsenal. Spotify owner Ek has spoken about his desire to buy the club he has supported since he was eight years old. News broke on Monday that the Swede is leading a consortium including three legendary former Arsenal players.
Current Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke released a joint statement with his son and director Josh on Tuesday saying they had no intentions to sell, four days after thousands of supporters gathered outside the Emirates to protest against their ownership.
But that has not put off Ek and speaking on Wednesday afternoon, he said buying the north London club is a "tremendous opportunity".
"Well I've been an Arsenal fan since I was eight years old," Ek told CNBC.
"Arsenal is my team. I love the history, I love the players, and of course I love the fans.

"So as I look at that I just see a tremendous opportunity to set a real vision for the club to bring it back to its glory.
"I want to establish trust with the fans and I want to engage the fans again.
"So to answer your question I am very serious. I've secured the funds for it and I want to bring what I think is a very compelling offer to the owners and I hope they hear me out."
Ek was then asked about the Kroenkes' stance that the club is not for sale.
