Manchester United v Southampton: Match in pictures
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken out after his side's emphatic 9-0 win over Southampton on Tuesday night. The Red Devils went into the game seeking a return to winning ways. And they did just that, battering their opponents with a sensational display.
Southampton's night got off to a torrid start when Alexandre Jankewitz was dismissed inside two minutes.
And Manchester United then took full advantage, nearly racking up double figures as they put their opponents to the sword.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani all found the net in the first half, with a Jan Bednarek own goal also adding to the visitors' woes.
And, in the second half, Solskjaer's side pushed their foot on the accelerator.
Anthony Martial scored twice, with Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes and Daniel James also finding the net as United cruised to victory.
And Solskjaer, somewhat inevitably, cut a delighted figure after the match.

“Yes, Andy [Cole] scored five! We shared the goals more between the players,” he said.
“Of course when the game starts like it does, it was always going to be about getting the first goal, because you see so many examples of ten men and they just close up shop and they get a draw.
“It was about keeping tempo high and getting the first goal and then just keep on from there.
“We’ve been waiting for them to show their magic and tonight was the night that they could go and enjoy . We haven’t had too many when you can sit down and enjoy the football in the second half.”
On hooking Cavani after 45 minutes, he said: “He was good, but he got a bad tackle on his ankle and so there was no point taking any risk, so hopefully it won’t swell up too much.”
