Transfer update: Latest on Rice, Upamecano and Eriksen
Chelsea have received a major update in their bid to sign Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig this summer. Volker Struth, the Frenchman’s agent, has revealed the defender will decide his next club “soon”.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in the youngster, who will have a release clause in his contract this summer.
Upamecano is one of the most sought-after players in world football at the moment after becoming a key fixture at the Bundesliga side.
He’s been linked with United in the past, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was reportedly interested in signing him last summer.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is also said to be an admirer, so there will be no shortage of interested parties this summer when the transfer window opens.

Upamecano was valued at roughly £80million last summer, but he will be available for much less this year.
That’s because the youngster has a release clause of just £38.5m in his contract, which will become active at the end of the season.
Despite Chelsea’s £250m spending spree last summer, they are believed to be among the frontrunners for Upamecano’s signature.
And they might not have to wait long before finding out if they’ll be successful, as Struth revealed he thinks the defender’s future will become clear before long.

He did, however, hint that Bayern Munich are leading the way after impressing during talks.
German outlet BILD claims Bayern held talks with Upamecano’s representatives last week to discuss a move.
Struth said: "Hasan Salihamidzic [Bayern Munich sporting director] is making a real effort and has made a good impression. Otherwise, only the Premier League is in the race.
“There are still two top clubs in England. We will decide [on Upamecano's next club] soon."
