Thiago Alcantara: Liverpool and Man Utd links debated by pundit
Thiago Alcantara has paid tribute to Bayern Munich as he prepares to officially become a Liverpool player later today. Jurgen Klopp landed his man after agreeing a £27million fee with the Bundesliga side.
"But what I am most proud of is that I arrived in Munich as a young man full of dreams and now I will leave completely fulfilled with a club, a history and a culture.
"Here I learned to love a tradition, that I am now saying goodbye to, but which I will never forget: 'Mia San Mia' (We are who we are).

"I have experienced fantastic moments in this city, in Sabener Strasse (the training ground) and in our beloved Allianz Arena. With my Bavarian family who treated me so well and loved me every second.
"My decision is purely of a sporting nature. As a soccer player, I want new challenges to develop myself further.
"Bavaria will always be my home. Thank you, FC Bayern!"
Meanwhile, former Premier League striker Gabby Agbonlahor thinks Gini Wijnaldum should leave Liverpool because of Thiago's arrival amid links to Barcelona.
“If you’re Wijnaldum, he played every game under Ronald Koeman for Holland, so he’s got the chance to go and play for a manager that he knows, he likes playing with," Agbonlahor said.

“How many times will you get a chance to go and play for Barcelona?
“They might not be the team they’ve been over recent years but it’s still Barcelona, you’re getting the chance to go and play with [Lionel] Messi, with superstars at Barcelona.
“He’s coming to 28, 29, so it may be his last chance for that big move.
“So if I was Wijnaldum and I got offered that chance to go to Barcelona, I would definitely be pushing that move through.”
