Roman Kemp has admitted he is "terrified" of not being able to have children as he shared fears over infertility.

Roman Kemp delivers 'emotional' goodbye to Capital Breakfast

Roman Kemp, 31, has expressed that the example set by his famous parents, Martin Kemp and Shirlie Holliman, has made him eager to start his own family.

The former radio presenter shared that he yearns to have a child and is excited to tell his parents that he is expecting a baby.

Speaking in an interview with Heat magazine, Roman admitted that he has also been concerned about his own infertility and went for a sperm check last year.

The star confessed to the publication: "I'm terrified of not having kids. That is my biggest thing. I even went to have a sperm check when I was 30. I'm such a family-orientated person."

Roman and his dad, Martin, are known for their close bond after first appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox in 2019.

The pair also present their ITV breakfast programme Martin & Roman's Weekend Best! and now host their podcast FFS! My Dad Is Martin Kemp.

Paying tribute to his famous parents and their example, he said: "I love my mum and dad...I'm so grateful for the life I've been able to have; growing up in my family, I couldn't think of anything better.

"I've always said to my friends like, no matter what job comes up they'll know that I'm truly happy when I call them to say I'm going to have a baby."

Roman was previously in a three-year relationship with his former girlfriend, Anne-Sophie Flury. However, the couple split in 2020.

Roman also revealed he switched antidepressants because the ones he was taking were giving him a low sex drive.

The 31-year-old has been very open about his mental health struggles following the death of a friend.

Speaking to The Times about how his use of medication has affected him, Kemp revealed he had to change his treatment to improve his libido.

He said: "It's reality. It's a very common thing that antidepressants can do. But I spoke to my doctor, he switched me to a different one and now I'm back up and running."

In April, he said he decided to leave his role hosting the Capital radio breakfast show because being in the studio was like reliving the "horrible" moment of discovering his friend's death "over and over" again.

Roman's best friend and producer, Joe Lyons, took his own life in August 2020, and the star learned of his death while he was at work.
