United are believed to be ready to wait until the final few days of the transfer window – which closes on October 5th - to make a bid in the hope that Dortmund will lower their demands.
But Sky Sports’Dharmesh Sheth has warned that tactic could see them miss out, because Dortmund want to sign a replacement once they sell.
“Leaving it late, is that going to fall on deaf ears at Borussia Dortmund?” hesaidto Sky Sports News.
“If they leave it until October 3rd, 4th or even deadline day on October 5th, Borussia Dortmund have always said he’s staying.
“If they come to the position where he isn’t staying, they’re going to need a Jadon Sancho replacement. They’re going to need time to bring in a Jadon Sancho replacement.
“The alternative is they wait until next summer and bring in an experienced player until next summer, perhaps on loan, and then go back in for Jadon Sancho next summer.
“In theory, that could work, they’re going to have more money. But then other clubs are going to have more money, Manchester United might not be the only show in town for Jadon Sancho.
“This is a crucial final period of the window for Manchester United, make no mistake about it.
“And it’s a crucial period for the club, and also the fans making all this noise on social media about how they perceive Manchester United.”
