Man Utd: Diogo Dalot says he wants to build his career in defence
Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Real Madrid star Sergio Reguilon this summer. The left-back sparkled for Sevilla last term as they won the Europa League and, now, could be on his way to Old Trafford. So Express Sport will now take a look at how the potential signing of the 23-year-old would impact Luke Shaw, Brandon Williams, Diogo Dalot and Tim Fosu-Mensah.
Before the start of last season, big question marks hovered over Shaw and whether he was good enough to play for United.
The England international had struggled during Jose Mourinho’s time in charge, with the Tottenham boss often preferring the likes of Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo at left-back.
Yet Shaw improved considerably last term, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer managing to coax the best from the former Southampton star.
And, should Reguilon arrive, he’d provide intense competition for a starting berth.
It’s an open secret that Williams, who played at left-back last season, is too young and raw to start every week.
But Reguilon is certainly talented enough to do just that and his presence could drive Shaw onto scaling even greater heights.
